The Dark Side of the 2000s is a docuseries developed by VICE TV that chronicles the most shocking aspects of pop culture in the 2000s decade. On each episode, we see lots of things that bring out the nostalgic aspect for those of us who had to live through those years: I’m talking about the rise of social media, magazines like FHM and Maxim, Lindsay Lohan’s rise and fall into drugs, as well as the demise of MTV as a channel that used to play music videos and its transition into reality TV.
The show comes from the same minds that brought us other docuseries covering the same aspects and tones from professional wrestling and football. It features testimonials from people involved in the crises, and controversy, and it goes in-depth into how these events morphed the collective appreciation of these pop culture events. If you grew up in those years and have a knack for nostalgia, be sure to check it out.
Dark Side Of The 2000s Episode 8 Recap
This episode of Dark Side of The 2000s covers Charlie Sheen and his very abrupt dismissal from his hit sitcom “Two and a Half Men” after his beef with Chuck Lorre. Charlie’s erratic behavior, drug abuse, and troubles with the production crew, as well as his social media drama postings about his bosses, led to him being written out of the series and replaced by Ashton Kutcher.
The show goes on to cover why Charlie Sheen went on that downward spiral, as well as that dramatic interview that spawned countless memes like “Winning”, “I got Tiger Blood,” and “I’m addicted to winning”.
Dark Side of The 2000s Episode 8 Ending Explained
After Charlie Sheen’s dismissal from Two and a Half Men, the show’s ratings tanked, and eventually, after a couple of seasons, the show was canceled simply because Sheen’s character was the soul and spirit of the show. The docuseries covers interviews from those involved with the show and goes in depth at how Charlie Sheen went on a wild rampage of strippers, cocaine, and excesses while being locked up in a Las Vegas suite hotel.
Dark Side of The 2000s Episode 8 Review
This episode did bring out in me a lot of nostalgia because I was a hardcore fan of Two and a Half Men, and I laughed out loud when Charlie went on that drug-fueled rampage against Chuck Lorre, who wouldn’t have any of Charlie’s drama king dramatis personnæ.
It is also a testimony of how drug abuse can ruin your career and tank a show that has everything going. But then again, the 2000s were a wild and weird decade; we were just getting used to social media and its discontents.
