Cyberpunk 2077 is expanding its customization options with Update 2.5, which introduces cross-platform mod support for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac. Powered by mod.io, the feature allows players to browse and install selected community-created mods through the game’s menu, bringing a new way to customize Night City to console players.
CD Projekt Red confirmed the update’s details in its official Edgerunners 2 Update patch notes. The update launched on October 22, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version was scheduled to arrive in the following days.
HOW CROSS-PLATFORM MOD SUPPORT WORKS ON SWITCH 2
The new feature integrates mod.io directly into Cyberpunk 2077, letting players access a curated selection of player-made modifications without relying on external installation methods. Players must connect their CD Projekt Red account to mod.io to browse and install supported content. The developer also confirmed that the available selection will expand over time.
However, not every PC mod will necessarily be available on consoles. Mods must meet platform-specific requirements, and players using modded saves on consoles cannot earn achievements or trophies while playing those saves. Players using cross-progression should also ensure their installed mods are compatible across platforms.
Update 2.5 also introduces content inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The new “Clampdown” side quest takes place before the anime’s events and rewards players with a five-piece gear set based on King. A new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, adds music from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series to Night City.
Other additions include new clothing collections, hairstyles, customizable cyberware appearances, and a new Double Trouble perk. The perk allows V to dual-wield Power-category pistols and revolvers, offering another combat option. Players can also discover 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards through an additional quest.

MORE GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS AND TECHNICAL UPDATES
The update introduces an FOV slider on consoles, save-file organization by playthrough, and item filters for apartment and vehicle storage. It also adds new Photo Mode poses and trading card-inspired frames.
On the technical side, Update 2.5 includes DLSS 4.5 support, performance optimizations, improved HDR rendering, and fixes for several existing issues. One notable fix addresses a Nintendo Switch 2 saving error that could display an insufficient-space warning.
The free update gives returning players more customization options while introducing cross-platform modding to a wider audience. For Switch 2 owners, its arrival will bring access to supported community-created content directly within the game.
