Crimson Desert Update 1.17.00 Finally Fixes the Quick Slot Bug That Replaced Players’ Food

Crimson Desert has received another post-launch update, and Patch 1.17.00 finally addresses one of the game’s more frustrating inventory problems. Released by Pearl Abyss on August 7, the update does not introduce a major new feature or expansion, instead concentrating on bug fixes, stability and smaller gameplay improvements.

The most notable change concerns the quick slot system. Previously, consuming the entire stack of food assigned to a quick slot could cause another item to be automatically placed in that position. That behavior could be particularly inconvenient during combat, when players rely on their quick slots and may not immediately notice that the assigned item has changed.

Crimson Desert Patch 1.17.00 Fixes Quick Slot and Map Problems

According to the official patch notes from Pearl Abyss Crimson Desert, Version 1.17.00 specifically fixes the issue that caused an unintended item to occupy a quick slot after all assigned food had been consumed. The change should make the toolbar more predictable and eliminate the need to repeatedly rearrange it after running out of supplies.

The update also corrects progression tracking for the “Desperate Rescue” challenge. Players who previously completed the required actions without receiving proper credit should now see the challenge register correctly.

Several smaller gameplay and interface problems have also been addressed. Pearl Abyss fixed an issue where special headgear effects failed to activate in certain situations, while movement received an audio and animation fix intended to prevent overlapping footstep sounds and occasional animation stuttering.

The patch also cleans up the world map by removing icons for unobtainable treasure chests and correcting trade routes that could appear abnormally. Localization has received additional attention as well, with Pearl Abyss fixing various translation errors and improving localization quality across supported languages.

Patch 1.17.00 is rolling out across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Epic Games Store, while the Mac App Store version is being released separately.
