Creative Assembly and Sega have revealed an extended gameplay showcase for Total War: Warhammer 40,000, offering fans their clearest look yet at the upcoming real-time strategy game.
Presented during Bilibili World 2026 in Shanghai, the demo highlighted the franchise’s signature large-scale warfare while introducing the brutal sci-fi battles of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
Extended Gameplay Highlights Galactic-Scale Warfare
The gameplay demonstration confirms that Total War: Warhammer 40,000 retains the series’ strategic foundation while expanding the scale of its battles. Players will fight across multiple planets, with terrain and positioning playing a significant role in combat.
The featured battle showcased the Astra Militarum taking on the Orks in a war-torn environment. Although the Imperial forces were at a disadvantage in close combat, they used defensive positioning behind a supply train and forced the Orks to cross a river before launching a coordinated assault.
The battle escalated with the arrival of heavy armored vehicles and a towering Stompa, before ending with a devastating Lance Strike orbital bombardment that secured victory for the Astra Militarum.

Beyond its tactical gameplay, the reveal emphasized the game’s visual fidelity. Explosions, detailed environments, and hundreds of units on screen simultaneously marked a noticeable technical upgrade over previous entries in the series.
The gameplay has already sparked discussions among PC players about hardware requirements, although Creative Assembly has not yet announced the game’s official minimum or recommended system specifications. Those details are expected closer to launch.
The gameplay reveal was first showcased during Bilibili World 2026 and later shared online by Sega and Creative Assembly, giving strategy fans their first extended look at one of the franchise’s most ambitious projects to date.
