CODE VEIN II has received a major post-launch expansion with Mask of Idris, which is now available alongside the free Version 2.0 update. Released on September 9, 2026, the DLC expands the action RPG with a new story set in the mysterious Forsaken World, while the free update adds additional content for everyone who owns the game.
Mask of Idris is included with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions or can be purchased separately. The expansion and update are available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, giving players who have completed the main campaign a new adventure to explore.
CODE VEIN II Mask of Idris Adds a New Post-Game Story
The Mask of Idris expansion takes players into the Forsaken World, a territory created from the remnants of worlds that disappeared following historical alterations. These erased worlds form the Temporal Rift, which should have naturally vanished but instead continued expanding and now threatens the world the protagonists are attempting to save
Players will encounter Liv Voda, the original guardian of the Temporal Rift, who views the protagonist as a rogue interfering with the natural order. The story also introduces another version of Lou, who reached the Forsaken World after suffering a different tragedy from the one experienced by the Lou players already know.
The expansion adds new weapons, Formae, and Jails, each offering abilities that differ from those available in the base game. Completing the new story also unlocks alternate color variations for 14 partner characters, including characters introduced through Mask of Idris.
Access to the expansion requires players to reach the “Luna Fraterna” ending of the main story and complete the “Valentin’s request” sub-mission.

Free CODE VEIN II Version 2.0 Update Adds More Content
The free Version 2.0 update expands the post-clear experience through “The Age of Harmony,” which adds new episodes for each partner. Players can also tackle “Trials of Remembrance,” a series of consecutive boss battles that reward items exchangeable for more than 90 character customization parts.
Another major addition is Jadwiga, who can now be summoned as a partner rather than being available only in a possessed state. She fights with a two-handed sword wielded in one hand and combines it with Formae for a fast-paced combat style.
Version 2.0 also introduces a story-focused mode that increases player stats to make exploration and boss encounters more accessible. A new Legacy character shader gives characters an anime-inspired appearance designed to evoke the visual style of the original CODE VEIN.
Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, CODE VEIN II follows the Revenant Hunter through a world where time itself becomes a weapon. Players can switch between past and present versions of environments, drain blood from enemies to unlock skills, customize Blood Codes, and use specialized Jails and weapons.
The sequel’s Partner System also allows players to switch between two combat forms during encounters, adding another layer to its action RPG combat.
