Shunsaku Tomose has illustrated in the same light novel. The second season was announced in February 2022. Lerche returned to anime this season to animate this particular season. The second season came onto our screens on July 4, 2022.
The plot of Classroom of the Elite is based on the lives of some high school students who are attending the lowest-rank class of the most esteemed institute in Japan. The show has its share of unique and different characters. The protagonist of Classroom of the Elite Season 2 is the same as Season 1. Supporting characters in the show also have a story of their own. This anime has supporting characters like Suzune Horikita and Kikyou Kushida.
Kiyotaka Ayanokōji is a genius who hides his skills and puts himself in the lowest ranking class for reasons that are still unknown. He figures out that the school’s success is based more on sabotage than on education. Kiyotaka makes his mission to protect his friends and move up in the ranking of the school.

Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
We were already aware of Kushida being a traitor. In episode 5, we got to know how Horikita is unfit to lead the class filled with misfits of the esteemed school. She makes more mistakes than we can count in numbers. Kiyotaka’s master plan has not done anything until now. The fans have somehow lost all their confidence in these students making it to Class-A anymore. With their failures and low success rate, Class-A feels like a dream sort of difficult to achieve at this point.
So far, Kiyotaka’s vision of things is not happening right. We are in the middle of the sports festival this early in the anime, and the performance outcome is, in total honesty, just sad. It is also disappointing seeing the main lead’s class portrayed in a bad light just because two careless people aren’t capable of leading at all. This was not fun to watch. The unimpressive supporting class made this a painful episode to watch.
To conclude it better, this episode was a knife in our gut for being excited to see something interesting happening in the show. Hope this will change in Classroom of the Elite Season 2 Episode 6.
