The follow-up to one of the most expensive TV shows ever just received an exciting update. A new report from Variety has announced that Rahul Kohli, Merle Dandridge, and Michael Trucco will be in Season 2 of Citadel.
Details about their roles are being kept secret, but they will join new cast members Jack Reynor, Matt Berry, and Gabriel Leone, who joined the Prime Video series last week. Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, who starred in Season 1, will return along with the new cast members. The Russo Bros. will produce, and Joe Russo will direct one episode of Season 2.
When Citadel’s budget was revealed to be $50 million per episode before the series’ release, many expected it to be one of the best spy-thriller shows ever. However, higher spending does not always mean better quality. The first season of Citadel has a 51% score from critics and a 63% approval rating from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.
Despite mixed reviews, the series achieved record viewership for Prime Video and got renewed for a second season. There are also several Citadel spin-offs in development, including Citadel: Diana and Citadel: Honey Bunny, which have both received exciting updates recently.
What Have the New ‘Citadel’ Season 2 Cast Members Done?
Kohli began his acting career in the early 2010s and has worked on many high-profile projects. He recently starred in the Netflix series The Fall of the House of Usher and played Sheriff Hassan in Midnight Mass, another Netflix series.
Dandridge is well-known for her role as Marlene in The Last of Us Part 1 and the live-action TV show with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. She also voiced Alyx Vance in the Half-Life games. Trucco is famous for his role with Nicolas Cage in Next and has appeared in Hush, Hunter Killer, and The Bye Bye Man.
Citadel Season 2 is expected to start filming later this year and release in 2025. Stay tuned to Otakukart for updates and watch Citadel on Prime Video.
