In the last episode, we saw how Mouch was building a replica of a vintage firetruck as the Deputy District Chief, but he required help from Gallo and Ritter. Brett and Violet come across several patients who exhibit an odd combination of symptoms. We also saw how the Herrmann family is troubled by Cindy’s chemotherapy findings in the last episode.
A lot more happened in episode 17, which will be revealed in this post, along with the Chicago Fire Season 11 Episode 18 release date and streaming guide. Cruz was improving in his position as captain. He was growing more confident in his abilities.
The only drawback to assuming control was it’s own. He used to enjoy attending his son’s school sports, but he was often absent. Javier misses him. Javier looks up to Cruz. They get along very well.
Javier wishes he could return to the carefree times when Severide was in charge because he truly loves to spend time with his parents. However, Severide was still away for business reasons. Everyone misses him. Simply put, they are unsure of his return date. In the interim, they had to keep rescuing lives.

Recap
Cruz was still learning how to balance everything, too. Cruz at least has his wife on hand to offer assistance. She has been attending the games recently to cover for him. Javier has been receiving schoolwork assistance from her, and Cruz might get lost without her.
Cruz and the other teams were called to the scene of a significant fire. In the blaze was a hospital facility. There were still patients and caregivers inside. Cruz’s crew entered to save everyone. He told his replacement to be the savior, but she disregarded him.
Cruz was annoyed even though no one was hurt, and it didn’t help that Bamford was boasting about defying his instructions. Cruz wished to take his position. He went to Chief Boden. He informed him that Bamford must leave because he disobeyed instructions, and Boden had instructed Cruz to report Bamford.
No one is allowed to disobey an order. Cruz also felt that was going too far because he would have to justify him in a report explaining why he needed to be replaced. He wished to avoid becoming entangled with Bamford. Additionally, he didn’t believe he had the authority to decide someone’s professional future.
Cruz decided to hold off on this one for a while because he didn’t want to be held accountable for someone else’s criminal record. He didn’t want to make any moves that could endanger someone too quickly. Cruz might have improved as a subordinate.
But he didn’t think he was in charge. He saw himself as fitting in, and he knew that wouldn’t help him. As Brett and Violet relayed a strange scenario, Cruz was deliberating. When the paramedics arrived at the house, they discovered a guy experiencing hallucinations. Andrew was his name.
He wasn’t a substance user. Neither medicinal nor fun. He used to be a county prosecutor and is frequently evaluated for employment. The EMTs could not determine what was causing the symptoms, and they took Andrew to the hospital by themselves.
They believed that was it until they received a second contact with circumstances resembling Andrew’s. In the initial instance, they could flinch off. The second time, they were unable to accomplish that. They also discovered that other patients had the same complaints at the hospital.
It initially appeared that individuals were becoming ill due to toxic exposure. On the front lines of this were Brett and Violet. They were scared because they had seen how bad it was becoming directly.
