The Popularity of the Chainsaw Man Manga rose to new heights after the release of the anime back in 2022. MAPPA truly did an amazing job with it. He uses Pochita to cut down trees for timber. He also works as a part-time Devil Hunter. Pochita’s chainsaw can also be used to kill other devils. The Yakuza collects the corpse to sell them on the black market. Even though they fetch a hefty sum, Denji is almost always left with nothing regarding royalties—Denji powers through in hopes of living the good life one day.
In the end, what got him killed was the notoriety of the person he considered his best friend. However, Pochita would allow his life to end in such a pitiful way. With his dying breath, he made a contract with Denji. In exchange for his heart, he must live a good life. He reassembled Denji’s body and took the place of his heart while leaving his tail outside.
That is how Denji became the Chainsaw Man. After massacring the members of the Yakuza that tried to kill him, he was recruited by Makima. Thus becoming a Public Safety Devil Hunter.
