Captain! Is This Battlefield Here? Chapter 1 will start with a prologue where Yoona will be shown how she is in life and the problems she faces. One of those will be her subordinate, Sangyeop, who will keep running his mouth and rub her wounds over not finding a partner. He will go over how he was able to get a partner way before Yoona, and the reason she hasn’t gotten any is because of her stuck-up attitude. Though Yoona is expressionless most of the time, the little comment makes her twitch, and she tells him to focus on the task at hand.
The task at hand is to take care of the rebellions which have taken up the village and are preparing to intercept the soldiers from South Korea. Yoona being, the leader of the Elite Special Forces, has been sent to deal with the issues at hand. However, she and her subordinate agree that the people they are about to face are nothing short of savages or demons. This will be made not soon after as their camp is intercepted by them, and they suffer losses. Yoona is one of them and loses her life on the spot.
The life of a soldier can be boring, with not much in the way of entertainment. This is especially true for Elite Special Forces Captain Lee Yoon-ah. She is bound by the responsibility of her troops and her country. Though she isn’t thrilled by the numbness and sometimes emptiness of her joke, reading is one thing that keeps her occupied. But most of the time, she is busy with many tasks that include taking care of everything.
She can do for her fellow men. But her tenure as a soldier is about to come to an end as she gets stationed overseas and soon meets her end. Yoona wakes up and finds herself in a new body. Still coming to terms with the shock of being hit by a shell, she slowly starts to realize the person in front of her is no different than the description she had learned not so long ago in a romance novel.
She explores the new world around her and finds herself in a physical representation of the romance novel she was reading not long ago. And then she made a bold decision, one she couldn’t make in her past life. Rather than servicing someone, she will find true romance in this life.

When asked by an approaching servant, she would bend her arms to see what was happening around her. Once she comes to terms with her being in a new body, she regrets it a little.
The person she has become is none other than from the novel her friend has written. For which she didn’t hold back in criticizing. Now she is one of the characters she had deemed extra in her friend’s novel, and Yoona has to figure out her new world away from war.
