Capcom has signaled a bright future for Pragmata, revealing that the chances of a sequel are “high” after the sci-fi action game sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide since its April launch.
According to Bloomberg and Capcom’s latest financial results, corporate officer Yoshikazu Shimauchi said the
“likelihood of a sequel is high”
because the game’s performance has exceeded the company’s expectations. Capcom also hopes to grow Pragmata into a
“pillar franchise and a source of longer-term revenue.”
The publisher credited the game’s success to both its gameplay and the popularity of Diana, Hugh’s android companion, who has become one of the title’s standout characters.
Earlier this year, Pragmata director Cho Yonghee also expressed interest in continuing the series, saying he would “love to see a sequel,” while acknowledging that the final decision rests with Capcom.
