Caitlin McHugh recently offered a playful take on what makes her marriage to John Stamos so enduring. “We have a lot of good communication,” McHugh, 38, told Fox News on December 31. “But honestly, I sometimes think it’s because he went through everyone else already. I was the last one.”
Married since 2018, the couple shares a 6-year-old son, Billy, and will mark seven years of marriage in February 2025. Reflecting on their time together, McHugh remarked, “In Hollywood, it feels like a long time. Not so much in real life, but we do spend a lot of time together.”
Before settling down with McHugh, Stamos, 61, was married to Rebecca Romijn from 1998 to 2004. He shared insights about their relationship in his memoir If You Would Have Told Me. Over the years, Stamos was also linked to stars like Paula Abdul, Denise Richards, and Teri Copley.
These days, the actor enjoys family outings at Disneyland and watching his son, Billy, explore his budding love for the arts. McHugh shared, “Billy is in dance class and had his first recital last summer. He’s such a ham, just like his dad, always trying to make others laugh.”
At just six years old, Billy has already charmed his peers, especially the girls in his group of friends. “He’s got all these girls with crushes on him,” McHugh said, laughing. She added, “He’s naturally entertaining, but he’s also athletic, which is new for us. He loves basketball and other sporty activities. We’re supportive of whatever he chooses, but it’s clear entertaining is in his blood.”
Stamos has previously opened up about how much he treasures family moments. In a 2022 interview with Us Weekly, he described his favorite ways to spend time together. “We do things as a family a lot,” he said. “There’s a shopping center near us in L.A. where we watch the turtles, have dinner, and enjoy ice cream cones together. It’s simple but special.”
From parenting milestones to playful quips about their love story, the Stamos family continues to embrace life with humor and joy.
