BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie experienced significant increases in Instagram followers, coinciding with recent dating rumours linking the two K-pop stars.
K-pop Radar, a platform that monitors the social media activity of K-pop idols, reported that on May 24th, V’s personal Instagram account gained over 130,000 new followers in 24 hours, marking him as the top idol with the highest daily follower increase.
This surge continued for three consecutive days, amassing approximately 500,000 new followers by May 25th, pushing his total follower count to an impressive 42.5 million, reaffirming his status as the “SNS King.”
Following closely behind, BLACKPINK’s Jennie saw her Instagram followers spike by 93,000 on May 24th, reaching a total of 66.7 million followers. The timing of this surge coincides with swirling dating rumours sparked by a netizen’s photo shared on May 22nd, purportedly showing V and Jennie on a date in Jeju.
In addition to V and Jennie, members of TWICE, including Tzuyu, Sana, Mina, and Momo, also ranked prominently in the list of highest daily follower increases, occupying the 3rd to 6th positions, respectively.
Furthermore, BLACKPINK’s group account and BTS’s group account experienced substantial daily follower growth, with BLACKPINK’s account climbing 49 places and BTS’s account rising by 25 places in the follower rankings.
The simultaneous surge in Instagram followers for V and Jennie coincides with heightened speculation around their relationship, with fans eagerly monitoring social media for any updates amidst the agencies’ continued silence on the matter.
