Not just Jungkook or any other idol, BTS member Suga released his single “The Last” in 2016 and has finally reached its milestone. To be more precise, it has garnered 100 million streams on Spotify, and his fans have gone crazy.
Suga is a versatile Kpop singer, more precisely a rapper, and a record producer too, under the name Agust D. Hailing from Daegu, he is now 30 years old. He is signed under Big Hit Entertainment. Besides working with BTS from the very start, he also has made a successful solo music career.
This year, Suga released her debut solo album- D-Day. Did you listen to it? He also has his self-titled mixtape – “Agust D” in 2016. He even collaborated with Psy for the latter’s song, “That That,” which was released last year.
Despite being a huge fan of Suga, not everyone knows about his initial career. Well, from the very start, Suga was interested in rapping. He was highly inspired by Stony Skunk and Epic High. At the age of 17, he worked at a recording studio. Suga was initially an underground rapper. Later, along with RM and J-Hope, he trained for three years before starting with BTS.
Suga’s “The Last” was not the first one from his list to surpass 100 million. Then? It’s the ninth one. Spotify is considered the world’s largest music streaming platform. Making such a wonderful record on the same is not an easy thing to do. But Suga made it. Congratulations!
Suga’s “The Last” Song Being Another Hit From His Playlist
Let’s just clear out one thing- “The Last” didn’t surpass 100 million streams this year, but back in 2021. The date was recorded to be on 6 October. As hinted earlier, his eight other songs are – “Daechwita,” “Interlude: Shadow,” “Burn It,” “People,” “Strange,” “What Do You Think?’’, “So Far Away’’ and “Agust D.”
It’s not just Suga, but he tied with EXO, having the most songs with more than 100 million streams on Spotify. Can you even imagine the number of fanbases? It’s incredibly huge. To be more precise, they both ranked fifth.
This wonderful record marked Suga’s achievement even as a solo artist. As a group, Suga’s recognition is more of a rapper. That’s what we mostly celebrate or praise when he works as a part of BTS. Isn’t it? But, when he released his solo acts, we simply couldn’t or even couldn’t ignore his other talents like dancing and music rhythms.
Just like Suga, another BTS member, Jimin also made history. The latter made 532 million streams on Spotify with his song – “Like Crazy.” Not to forget to mention, it crossed “Solo” by Blackpink’s Jennie. At present, he has eclipsed Jungkook, surpassing 1.9 billion streams.
Fans were initially very disappointed when the BTS members announced their hiatus. But, now, the ARMYs are very proud of them. Giving a break in performing as a group and working on solo projects didn’t just earn them recognition and fame individually but also helped them learn self-skill. That’s important.
Concerning Suga, fans congratulated him and poured loads of love and support on social media. In other words, his fans celebrated his success. We are eagerly waiting for Suga’s next release. However, at present, he is serving in the military.
Best Wishes to Suga for the upcoming days of his life. Make sure to follow Suga on his Instagram account for more relatable updates.
