Bruiser is a 2022 American drama movie written and directed by Ben Medina and Miles Warren. Aaron Ryder, Jewerl Ross, Scott Lumpkin, Scott Frank, and Trevante Rhodes are the producers of the movie. The stars of the show include Trevante Rhodes as Porter, Shamier Anderson as Malcolm, Jalyn Hall as Darius, and Shinelle Azoroh as Monica.
Ryder Picture Company, Lyrical Media, and Toula67 Entertainment are the production companies of the movie. Initially, the movie was released in September 2022 in Toronto but officially released on 24 February 2023 on Hulu. The movie had its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022.
In the same month, it was announced that Bruiser became the first narrative feature movie to be acquired by Onyx Collective. The movie runs for 97 minutes. The movie revolves around a 14-year-old boy who, after being beaten, turns into a charismatic loner.
The movie covers the themes of Love, family, growth, and truths about the past. Warren has done a great job with each of his characters. A 14-year-old boy who is Darious, explores his Manhood with Malcolm. His father is loving but also strict at the same time.
When this boy learns Porter’s true identity, he is torn between two men. The movie focuses on the emotional themes of fatherhood and masculinity. The movie has been loved by the viewers. Is appreciating Warren for his great job. It is a fascinating portrayal of youth in revolt.
The performances by the actors have taken the movie Bruiser to the very next level. Everything starting from cinematography, and lighting, to directing, is at its best. The story knows how to add layers and when to reveal everything, so that is a good thing.

Plot Details Of Bruiser
As Darious is torn between two men, many more things also happen. Darious, played by Jalyn Hall, returns to his town after almost a year at a lavish boarding school, but he finds out that he hates his old friends and he doesn’t get along with his stepdad Malcolm played by Shamier Anderson.
Darious tries to confide this with his girlfriend from school, but his girlfriend makes it clear that she doesn’t want to talk about this. As he gets alone and alone, he gets angrier and angrier as time passes. He gets out his anger by indulging in his first-ever fight with his school friends.
Filled with blood and hurt pride, Darious stumbled across Porter, who is a boathouse-dwelling drifter who offered him the friendship that he really needed at that time. After his first encounter with Porter, his mother, Monica, does not like this.
This friendship leads to tension between Porter and Malcolm. Bruiser builds upon the theme of violence and drifts within the family. Violence spreads faster than anything else, and the same thing happened here. The violence of the father passed on to his son. The audience loved the fact that Bruiser is a Black Film, and the performances were just exceptional.
Race is not the most important factor in the movie, but it still is a factor. Medina has done beautiful work with the script by not making it the central theme of the movie. Bruiser tells the story of a father and son who are not on the same page.

Bruiser Ending Explained
Bruiser not just showed violence and showed toxic masculinity but also builds an emotional rollercoaster for the viewers. Malcolm was also beaten by his father, and this caused him to foster anger inside him.
The same thing happened with Darious. Both Porter and Malcolm told stories of how they used to beat one another in their youth. Malcolm being a good father, does not want his son to inherit this anger from him.
Darious is drawn to more tough Porter for help. Porter is eager to teach Darious to defend himself from his anger. Darious, after witnessing the violence of both his father figures, decided to get away from both of them. He decided not to follow in any of their footsteps.
