Lee Tae wishes to be the reigning king of the Joseon dynasty. He wants to be an absolute monarch who will be remembered in a positive light in the future. The only one who sees a softer side to him is Yoo Jeong. Despite being embroiled in court politics, Lee Tae wishes that his romantic interest, Yoo Jeong has a happy and healthy life ahead of her.
On the other hand, Yoo Jeong is a part of the court. Therefore, she has no option but to participate in the frivolous actions and the routines of the court in order to earn her keep. In order to fight for her place in the royal court, Yoo Jeong needs to assert herself above the rest. Despite the king’s wishes that Yoo Jeong leads a happy life, she has her own set of goals and ambitions that she wants to meet.
Finally, we have Jang Hyuk, who plays Joseon’s most powerful politician, Park Gye Won. His ultimate goal is to make Lee Tae into a puppet. Park Gye Won wishes to shape Lee Tae into the perfect ruler according to his standards. At the same time, Park Gye Won is able to be stoic and calm under the most stressful situations.
Bloody Heart chronicles the stories of these three characters and how they get intertwined through the red thread of fate. It will be very interesting to see how these characters will be able to grow, develop, and fight against the forces that are so bent on keeping them apart, only for love or against love.

Bloody Heart New Posters
In the new character poster for Lee Tae, Lee Joon has taken on a ferocious expression that takes no prisoners. In order for him to be an absolute monarch, he is ready to take any route, and this poster is able to convert his conviction. However, Lee Tae also has a hint of vulnerability on his face, which is only revealed upon a closer inspection. The text on the poster reads, “I will live in my hell, so live with a smile in your world,” showcasing that Lee Tae does not wish for Yoo Jeong to get stuck in court politics.
We already know that Yoo Jeong is a strong woman. Through this poster, we can see that she has taken on a very graceful and elegant visual, but instead of smiling, she looks very serious and closed off. Her eyes are unreadable, but one can see that she is determined to achieve all her goals. The words on her poster reads, “Your Highness, protect yourself. I’ll protect myself.” She wishes to be independent, and she will stop at nothing to achieve that level of independence in the drama.
Park Gye Won gives off a powerful aura. He is known for his cold-hearted gaze, and fans can see that every moment Park Gye Won is on the screen will be overwhelming for the viewers. The text on his poster claims, “Everything God does is for this country Joseon.” We already knew that Park Gye Won would stop at nothing to make Joeson great, and his impenetrable poker-face shows that he is a lynchpin whose morality cannot be pinned down.
