The photos of the first script reading of KBS’s upcoming historical drama ‘Red Heart’ have been released! KBS is back with yet another highly anticipated K-drama, and well, we can’t expect any less from it! The series is packed with stunning actors like Kang Han Na, who has previously played roles in Start-Up, My Roommate Is A Gumiho, and many more dramas. It also has Lee Joon, who is extremely famous for his role in My Father Is Strange.
Along with them is Jang Hyuk, who is known for his leading roles in Windstruck, Fated to Love You, and many more series. This casting has brought even more curiosity as to what an amazing series it will turn out to be!
Historical K-dramas have wide popularity as it shows has a balanced blend of the historical context along with a number of life lessons in between the scenes. In ‘Red Heart,’ Lee Joon plays the character of Lee Tae, who is a king, and he is forced to abandon the woman he loves in order to survive. Meanwhile, Kang Han Na plays the character of a woman named Yoo Jung, a daughter of a noble family, who is forced to become the queen in order to survive.
The story begins when Lee Tae, who is the enemy of King Sunjong- who became king after the rebellion, ascends to the throne of Joseon. Using Park Gye Won as an ally, Lee Tae’s father deposed the king and from then on his father became the king of a new dynasty. He succeeded his father as the next king. Lee Tae believes any action he takes to reach his goal is justified and now wants to rule as an absolute monarch. But this idea is opposed by First Vice-Premier Park Gye Won. This might turn out to be a big obstacle for Lee Tae as Park Hye Won was considered even more powerful than the king. How will the events turn out now?

‘Red Heart’ K-drama cast gathers for first script reading
The cast members who attended the first script reading of ‘Red Heart’ were Lee Joon, Kang Han Na, Jang Hyuk, Park Ji Yeon, Heo Sung Tae, Ha Do Kwon, Kang Shin Il, Jo Seung Yeon, Cha Soon Bae, Ryu Seung Soo, Lee Tae Ri, and Choi Ri.

With his excellent acting skills, Lee Joon managed to express the emotions of Lee Tae, the king of Joseon who fights to survive in a cut-throat world of palace intrigue. Taking on the role of free-spirited Yoo Jung, Kang Han Na made her own mark.

As Park Gye Won, the first vice-premier and the real head of power in Joseon, Jiang Hyuk exhibited his charismatic side, while Park Ji Yeon demonstrated a delicate balance between good and evil as the elegant and ambitious Choi Ga Yeon.
Cast’s reaction after the first reading of ‘Red Heart’
After the end of the script reading, Lee Joon expressed his excitement by saying that he really thinks that this is going to be very fun. Kang Han Na added that she too is eagerly waiting to see how this new historical K-drama will turn out to be. She too is very excited and will be looking forward to it. Furthermore, Jang Hyuk said that they will welcome viewers with a very exciting story and Park Ji Yeon asked viewers to please show their support for Red Heart, which they are sure, will captivate everyone’s heart with every episode they watch.
‘Red Heart’ is directed by Yoo Young Eun and written by Park Pil Joo. It will air in the first half of 2022.
