Western shows have always intrigued viewers but shows such as Epix’s Billy The Kid stand apart due to their closeness to reality. Created by Michael Hirst, this Western drama follows the life of the infamous “Billy The Kid.”
While most of the series has been inspired by the young fugitive’s life, elements like romance and adventure have been intensified to make Billy The Kid an interesting watch. The storyline takes us through every little detail of Billy’s (William H. Bonney’s) life, from his heartbreaking childhood to his becoming an outlaw and gunfighter.
The first season was more of an introduction to Bonney, ending with him fighting Tunstall’s men. The second season will be featuring the actual cold-blooded crimes Billy has been known for.
The vast for season 2 of Billy The Kid is going to be Tom Blyth in the role of Billy, Daniel Webber playing Jesse Evans, Eileen O’Higgins playing Kathleen, and Vincent Walsh in the role of Lawrence Murphy.
Billy The Kid Season 1: Quick Recap
Season 1 of Billy the Kid began with a young Billy (Jonah Collier) and his Irish family preparing to leave their home in NY to find better jobs. Kathleen, Billy’s mom, finds a new partner named Antrim and soon decides to marry him.
Billy’s family then moves to Silver City. Kathleen ends up passing away due to disease, and Antrim decides to leave Billy and his brother without any guardian to take care of them. Billy’s life becomes harder as an orphan, but he somehow manages to grow up and continue living.
After killing a man in self-defense, Billy becomes wanted by the local police, and he has to leave the place. Soon afterward, Billy moves to Chihuahua, New Mexico, where he meets a person named Segura. This marks the beginning of many exciting new adventures for Billy after an agonizing life.
Running into Pat Garret becomes an excuse for Billy to join Jesse and his 7 Rivers Gang. Despite now being a part of something greater, Billy still feels anxious since he’s a wanted man, and the lawmakers are searching for him everywhere.
The gang eventually reaches Lincoln County, where they meet Frank Baker. The 7 Rivers Gang continued to make moves and started working for one of the most powerful persons in the area, a man called Major Murphy.
By episode 8, Billy The Kid sees the dangers of both sides and decides to remain neutral. Although Murphy had wanted Billy and the others to take down his biggest rival, Tunstall, Billy ends up joining the other side.
The second season will feature Billy now fighting against Murphy while also trying to remain honest about what he thinks is right. Moreover, the much-awaited Lincoln War will play out in the upcoming season.

After joining Tunstall in his fight against his enemies, Billy gains enough power and ends up committing many murders. While Epix seems to be taking Billy The Kid’s story in a similar direction, it’ll be exciting to see how they’ll portray the intense Lincoln Country War that took place in New Mexico.
