Bethesda Game Studios has officially confirmed that remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are in development, ending years of speculation surrounding the classic RPGs.
The announcement came in an official studio update outlining Bethesda’s long-term plans for the Fallout franchise, although the developer stopped short of revealing release dates or supported platforms.
According to Bethesda Game Studios, the studio acknowledged fans’ interest in revisiting earlier entries, stating,
“We also know many players want to revisit previous Fallout experiences. While we’re not announcing any dates today, we have been working on remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.”
Bethesda outlines the future of the Fallout series

The same update confirmed that pre-production on Fallout 5 is now underway, while The Elder Scrolls VI remains in full production. Bethesda also reiterated that the Fallout franchise is
“one of our biggest priorities today,”
signaling continued investment in the post-apocalyptic series.
In addition, the studio confirmed that Obsidian Entertainment is collaborating with Bethesda on a new Fallout project.
While no further details have been revealed, the announcement has generated excitement among longtime fans, especially given Obsidian’s work on the critically acclaimed Fallout: New Vegas.
Bethesda has not announced platforms for the remasters, leaving their availability on Nintendo Switch 2 and other systems unconfirmed. More information is expected in a future update.
