Discovery’s Bering Sea Gold takes a positive turn for all of the crews as the storm leaves them with new streaks of valuable gold. This happiness is going to be short-lived since this chaotic season will be bringing another tough storm for the gold hunters soon.
Bering Sea Gold documents workers in Nome Alaska as they try to find centuries-old gold at the bottom of the Bering Sea. Every year, the glaciers melt and bring out buried gold that these fortune seekers collect and sell for thousands of dollars.
These one-of-a-kind gold hunters are even willing to spend hours under the sea to find high-quality gold in the icy sea. Custom-built ships, skilled divers, and experienced leaders are what make Bering Sea Gold a popular goldmining docu-reality.
Crew members like Shawn Pomrenke, Cody Moen, Vernon Adkison, and others will be returning in the new season of Bering Sea Gold. Using their custom-built ships Christine Rose and Wild Ranger, these crews will be going deep into the Bering Sea to meet their gold collection goals for this season.
Recap
Kris Kelly reveals that he and his team were able to collect around 140.1 oz. of gold, which is very close to the actual intended goal of 175 oz. Although the last few weeks haven’t been great for gold mining deep within the sea, Kelly believes the recent storm could have opened up new streaks of gold for them.
With things looking positive for Kelly’s team, he hopes he can end this season with a bang. To make things work efficiently, Kris started closely monitoring all team members. They couldn’t risk damaging any equipment anymore, but despite the positive hopes, Kelly is only able to find low-quality gold.
The crew decides to move at a 20-30-foot angle and extract gold that way to see if it would yield something of higher value in the market. Shawn Pomrenke and Cody Moen searched for new good spots in the sea after none of the previous ones were good enough to complete their weekly goal.
After searching for a while, Shawn and Cody come across a good spot. At Nome Harbour, Vernon struggles to find gold with all the waters being covered with thick ice. This hasn’t been a good season for Vernon so far, and with most divers unwilling to go to deeper waters to search for gold, things might continue to be the same.
Divers can’t go down into the sea more than 40 feet, as the Nitrogen concentration was going to be higher and could ultimately risk their health. Vernon decides to push his luck with a new plan that could change things up. At Claim 56, Kevin has only two hours to collect at least 5 ounces of gold.
