Crunchyroll and TMS Entertainment have announced Bananya Buddies, a new mobile game based on the popular Bananya anime franchise. The cat-collecting game will launch exclusively through Crunchyroll Game Vault later this summer as part of the series 10th anniversary celebration.

The announcement gives fans another way to enjoy the adorable world of Bananya alongside the upcoming anniversary anime special.
A Milestone Launch for Crunchyroll Game Vault
Bananya Buddies is an important release for Crunchyroll’s growing gaming platform. The game is the first title published through Crunchyroll’s Original Game Publishing Initiative and is being developed by The MIX in partnership with Crunchyroll Games and TMS Entertainment. It will be available exclusively through Crunchyroll Game Vault.
When it launches later this summer, Bananya Buddies will join nearly 100 games already available to Crunchyroll Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan subscribers in more than 200 countries and territories. This marks another step in Crunchyroll’s efforts to expand beyond anime streaming.
Players can already pre-register for the game on the Google Play Store, while an App Store listing is expected soon. The game will support multiple languages, including English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
A Cozy Cat-Collecting Adventure
In Bananya Buddies, players build their own home on Banana Planet, where they can collect adorable Bananya cats, grow ingredients, make treats, and decorate their space. The relaxing gameplay is designed around collecting and caring for the lovable banana-shaped cats.
Each Bananya has its own favorite toys and snacks. Spending time with them earns Buddy Points, helping strengthen friendships, unlock rewards, and encourage the cats to stay longer on your island.
As players deepen their friendships, they can unlock special milestones like “Best Buddies” and “Best Buddies Forever.” These levels offer extra rewards and surprises, giving players more reasons to keep expanding their Bananya collection.
Bananya’s 10th Anniversary Celebration
The game arrives as part of Bananya’s 10th anniversary celebration. The franchise first debuted as a character brand in 2015 before its anime premiered in 2016. To mark the milestone, a new anniversary anime special will premiere at Anime Expo on July 4, exactly 10 years after the first episode aired.
Following its convention debut, the special will begin streaming on Crunchyroll on July 9, with a Japanese release scheduled for July 10. It features a new theme song and voice performances from Atsumi Tanezaki, Yuina Ito, and Toshiyuki Morikawa.
Crunchyroll and TMS Entertainment have also confirmed that the anniversary celebration will continue throughout the year with new merchandise, special events, and additional announcements, giving fans even more Bananya content to look forward to.
