Fans of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation now have another release to look forward to alongside the anime’s return. Publisher GREE and developer ASOBIMO have confirmed that Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation – Chronicle of Echoes, the franchise’s new free-to-play mobile RPG, will launch on July 27 in Japan for Android and iOS devices.

The Perfect Time for a New Mushoku Tensei Game

The mobile game’s release comes just weeks after the premiere of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3, helping keep the franchise in the spotlight this summer. The anime began airing in Japan on July 5 on Tokyo MX and BS11, with additional broadcasts on Sun TV and KBS Kyoto. Chronicle of Echoes will launch about three weeks later, giving fans a new way to experience the series while the anime is still airing.

Along with announcing the release date, GREE and ASOBIMO also released the game’s opening movie. It features the theme song “Chronicle,” performed by Yuiko Ōhara, who also sings Season 3’s opening theme, “Ketsui no Uta” (“Song of Decision”). Having the same artist perform both songs creates a stronger connection between the mobile game and the anime’s latest season.

Chronicle of Echoes lets players relive the story of the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime through 3D battles and newly recorded narration. The game also includes fully voiced scenes from Rifujin na Magonote’s original light novels that were not adapted into the anime, giving longtime fans new content to experience.

In addition to the main story, the mobile RPG features original side stories created exclusively for the game. Players can also interact with their favorite characters through special conversation events that reveal more about their personalities and relationships.

Pre-registration for the game opened in Japan in March on PC (via DMM Games), iOS, and Android, with milestone rewards offered to early sign-ups. GREE Entertainment is publishing the game, while ASOBIMO is handling its development and ongoing support.

This is not the first Mushoku Tensei game. In 2024, Bushiroad released Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation – Quest of Memories for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, showing the franchise’s growing popularity beyond its anime and light novels.

Season 3 Brings a New Story Arc

The launch of Chronicle of Echoes comes as excitement builds for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3. The new season is directed by Ryosuke Shibuya at Studio Bind, with Sanae Shimada and Ryota Furukawa returning as character designers. Composer Yoshiaki Fujisawa is also back to create the music for the latest season.

According to promotional material revealed at AnimeJapan 2026, Season 3 will adapt the “Eris Training Arc.” Fans can also catch up before the new episodes arrive, as the first two seasons of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation are available to stream on Crunchyroll, which will also stream Season 3 during its July premiere.

What’s Next for Mushoku Tensei

Originally published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō web novel platform between 2012 and 2015, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation follows Rudeus Greyrat, a man who is reincarnated into a fantasy world after dying in his previous life. Determined to make the most of his second chance, he sets out on a new journey filled with magic, adventure, and personal growth.

Since then, the series has become one of the most popular isekai franchises. Its light novels and Yuka Fujikawa’s manga adaptation are both available in English through Seven Seas Entertainment, while the anime and games continue to expand the franchise’s global audience.
