All of the rejected and unsuccessful cast members from past seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, according to ABC, have been successfully placed in a tropical paradise where they may mingle and make love.
Because of all the drama, sass, and beauty, Bachelor in Paradise Season 9 continues to provide these fascinating bachelors and bachelorettes who haven’t had luck up to this point with another opportunity to find love.
This season, as guys and girls compete for each other’s affection, lust, and sex appeal through flings, rejections, rebounds, and the like to self-eliminations and steamy and sexual exchanges—possibly more than they show on camera—we’re all staring at triangles and even rectangles.
An increasing number of single people arrive on the property with the intention of disrupting the dynamics and relationships that currently exist by bringing their date cards along. Hearts are broken, roses are constantly given, and the intense tropical heat only serves to heighten the feelings. So, what happened the week before?
Recap
With only a few weeks remaining, the beach is nearly completely split between committed couples and lost souls. Olivia is one of those lost souls; she’s already had her boyfriend ripped from her twice. The most recent transgressor was Kat, who caught John Henry’s attention when Tanner broke up with her.
But when Michael Barbour showed up in Paradise, Olivia’s trip ended on a happy note. This week’s episode opens with the much-anticipated resolution. Michael does, in fact, ask Olivia to go on a date. And it seems like everyone is happy for her, including Kat. Right now, she deserves it!
You would think Olivia would remember his name, even though she is enthusiastic about the date! Before her date, she asks the producers to remind her in a confessional, but she spends minutes telling everyone how wonderful he is and how eager she is to give him her ring size. Hein. Olivia’s problems in Paradise seem to be causing her to jump the gun a little bit.
Nevertheless, they get along great after their date. They dance for a while before spending some time getting to know one another better in a drum circle on the sand.
Michael says he doesn’t want his tardiness to be a liability, while Olivia says she’s trying to let down her guard despite having been burnt several times in Paradise. They get along right away, and Olivia’s prospects seem to be getting better.
Kat is being told by John Henry about his latest conversation with Olivia on the beach. He is content with their current circumstances and is now fully committed to Kat. In a surprising change of events, Kat admits that she didn’t get into Paradise the best way possible and that she upset other people emotionally while traveling.
She says she is at her best when she is around John Henry. That’s why she wants to focus on him right now—well done, she!
The next day, lots of couples are cuddling up, but Rachel is still unsure about her relationship status with Tanner. Olivia is uncertain if the rose he offered her was intended more as a gesture of friendship, similar to how Brayden gave Olivia a rose to persuade him to give her another shot at love.
She has been bothered by Tanner’s flirtatious actions, though. Before she can go too far down this spiral, two more men make their way down to the shore.
Taylor is one among them; he departed on Charity’s season premiere night. Then there’s Jordan, who got her first one-on-one date with Rachel during her combined season with Gabby and was sent home empty-handed.
Which of these men will get a date card is still up in the air. For the time being, Jordan is eager to talk to Rachel. Tanner’s day is ruined because, even though he hasn’t told Rachel outright, he wants to spend more time with her.
Beachgoers are under additional pressure to solidify their relationships because there’s only one rose ceremony standing between them and paradise’s end.
