Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced continues to deliver strong results for Ubisoft, with the publisher announcing that the remake has now sold more than 3.5 million copies worldwide within just two weeks of launch. The milestone comes after the game reached 2 million sales in its opening days and 3 million during its first week, making it one of Ubisoft’s fastest-performing releases in recent years.
The sales update was shared as part of Ubisoft’s latest quarterly financial report, where the company revealed that the game’s performance had already
“exceeded annual expectations within its first 14 days.”
The achievement provides a significant boost for the publisher as it continues implementing major organizational changes across its studios.
Ubisoft credits Black Flag Resynced for exceeding expectations
In the company’s earnings report, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot praised the remake’s launch and the response from players.
“The strong launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in early July by Vantage Studios is an encouraging proof point. The game is the highest-rated Assassin’s Creed title since the original Black Flag, and we are very pleased with the praise it received from players.”
Guillemot added that the title had already surpassed Ubisoft’s annual sales expectations after just two weeks, calling it evidence of the enduring popularity of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. He also thanked the development teams for delivering what he described as a high-quality experience.
According to Ubisoft, the company’s first-quarter Net Bookings reached €256 million, representing a 9% decline year over year, although the result slightly exceeded internal guidance.

Strong game launch contrasts with Ubisoft’s ongoing restructuring
While Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has become a commercial success, Ubisoft’s financial report also highlighted the company’s ongoing restructuring efforts. Guillemot said Ubisoft continues to execute its transformation through
“targeted rightsizing actions”
and a renewed focus on projects with the highest growth potential.
The announcement follows multiple rounds of layoffs across Ubisoft this year, including reported job cuts at Ubisoft Barcelona, Red Storm Entertainment, and the closure or restructuring of several studios. The company also confirmed organizational changes, including the appointment of Christoph Hartmann to lead Creative House 2.
Despite those broader challenges, Black Flag Resynced has emerged as one of Ubisoft’s brightest recent successes. Its strong early sales suggest that renewed interest in classic entries from the Assassin’s Creed series continues to resonate with players, providing the publisher with positive momentum as it navigates a broader corporate transformation.
