A sunshine-yellow dream. That’s the sentence that came to mind when I saw Ashley Park’s red carpet look for the Los Angeles ‘Joy Ride’ movie premiere. Styled by celebrity stylist Erin Walsh, Ashley was the main character at the premiere with her eye-popping stunning yellow ensemble.
Ashley Park is an actress and dancer from America but is of Korean descent. She was a famed figure in the world of theatre and did not make her Hollywood break until 2019. 2019 saw the release of ‘Emily In Paris’, a widely-known American rom-com series starring Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, William Abadie, and Lucien Laviscount.
Ashley slayed her first TV role as Emily’s first friend in France named, Mindy Chen and is now starring as the main character in the comedy movie ‘Joy Ride’, which is set to be released this week on July 7th!
‘Joy Ride’ is centered around Audrey, who ventures out to China with childhood best friend Lolo, ex-roommate Kat, and Lolo’s cousin Deadeye in search of her birth mother.
An official synopsis says that the film is a “hilarious and unapologetically explicit story of identity and self-discovery centers on four unlikely friends who embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure.” Keep scrolling to watch the movie’s viral trailer, Ashley Park’s vibrant look at the movie premiere, and the rest of the main cast’s looks at the same event!

Ashley Park Was A Vision In Vivid Yellow Versace At The ‘Joy Ride’ LA Premiere
‘Joy Ride’ is no stranger to many as the trailer itself had the Internet in stitches with one particularly hilarious bit.
Take a look at the complete trailer below to find out why everyone is hitting rewind on one of its scenes!
Coming to the LA premiere for the movie at the Regency Village Theatre Westwood, the red carpet showcased primarily tame looks until it came to Ashley Park, the main character in the movie, and also the red carpet, apparently.
She certainly turned heads when she walked in with her vivid yellow Atelier Versace ensemble that had a sexy one-side cover putting one of her legs on display. The dress was vibrant when compared to the rest of the cast members on the carpet.
The high-low halter-neck gown is from the Atelier Versace Spring 2021 couture collection and is adorned by several ruffles and a flowy chiffon fabric train that trails down to Ashley’s feet. The Atelier Versace Spring 2021 couture collection’s pieces were “one-of-a-kind designs crafted from superb silk, chiffon, leather, as well as heritage metal mesh and crystal mesh.”
Ashley paired the gown with six-inch high gold platform open-toe heels with skinny straps and elegant jewelry like hoops, stacked bracelets, and a bunch of rings.
Some may find the gown too showy and possibly a little tacky, but the piece fits right into Ashley’s usual style trends that are filled with vibrant colors and risks.

The rest of the main crew still worked the carpet in slightly less statement-making fashion, like suits with no colors or accessories that stood out as much as Ashley’s bright yellow gown.
Stephanie Hsu, who plays Kat, Audrey’s ex-roommate in the movie who decides to move to China to build her career as an actress, showed up on the carpet in a black cropped blazer and trouser combo. To keep it interesting, the outfit had gold embellishments which were complemented by Hsu’s accessories; gold point-toe pumps and dangly earrings.
Comedian Sherry Cola who plays Lolo in the movie, was a classy wonder in white wearing a double-breasted floor-length overcoat, satin blouse, and pleated trousers. She paired the outfit with metallic heels and dainty jewelry.

Sabrina Wu, who plays Deadeye in the movie, wore a black button-up shirt with grey pleated trousers and paired it with leather loafers.
Seth Rogan, whose production company Point Grey produced the movie, wore a Canali Spring 2023 ensemble, a striped button-down shirt with sneakers, and an orange suede jacket.
