Darkness is coming to Kings Canyon as Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment announce the Apex Legends: Blood Pact Event, a limited-time Halloween event running from October 13 through November 2, 2026. The event introduces a new faction-based twist to Wildcard, asking players to choose between the Beasts and Demons while battling through a haunted version of Kings Canyon.
The Blood Pact Event trailer sets up a supernatural conflict in which Legends can pledge themselves to either side and unlock different gameplay advantages. Instead of being purely cosmetic, the faction choice directly affects how players approach matches through special Wild Cards and temporary abilities.
The event also brings back Rev Shell Grenades, adds spooky environmental changes to Kings Canyon, and introduces new themed cosmetics for Legends and weapons. Apex Legends continues to support Wildcard alongside its other modes, with the event giving the mode a dedicated Halloween transformation.
BEASTS AND DEMONS CHANGE HOW WILDCARD PLAYS
The main attraction of the Blood Pact Event is the battle between Beasts and Demons in Wildcard. Players can select a faction and complete challenges during rounds to unlock Wild Cards associated with their chosen side.
The Beast path focuses on speed and aggressive movement. Players can gain bonus melee movement speed, faster shield-cell use and weapon switching, along with temporary critical hits when reloading.
The Demon path takes a more defensive and ability-focused approach. Its advantages include faster ability recharge, high-tier shields and the ability to completely recharge shields using a single shield cell.
Because the abilities affect movement, survivability and combat efficiency, choosing a faction can become an important part of each match rather than simply being a visual allegiance.
HAUNTED KINGS CANYON ADDS NEW THREATS
Kings Canyon receives a Halloween makeover for the event, with fog able to descend randomly during matches. The reduced visibility can conceal squad movements and make familiar locations considerably harder to read.
Players will also encounter haunted buildings, glowing Nessies and other supernatural decorations across the map. Respawn is bringing back Rev Shell Grenades as well, giving squads another tool for tracking down enemies hiding in the darkness.
The environmental changes continue the game’s history of transforming Kings Canyon for Halloween-themed events. Respawn previously used nighttime Kings Canyon, supernatural effects and Rev Shell Grenades during the 2025 Raise Hell event.
BLOOD PACT EVENT ADDS NEW WEREWOLF-THEMED COSMETICS

The Blood Pact Store expands the Halloween theme with new Legend and weapon cosmetics. Sparrow receives a new 1980s-inspired werewolf Legend Skin alongside a matching Character Select Animation, while Alter gets a new Legend Skin and an R-99 Weapon Skin.
Players can also pick up new Beast and Demon Legend Retheme Bundles, giving them additional ways to show which faction they support during the event.
The Apex Legends: Blood Pact Event runs from October 13 to November 2, 2026. The event will be available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through the EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam.
