The British presenting duo, Ant & Dec, has been around a long time and has recently announced that the two will be taking a break. Both Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly decided to collaborate and work together as a duo very early on in their life when the two met as child actors for a show. Both hosts hail from Newcastle, England, and have been in the entertainment business since 1989, starting with a drama called Byker Grove.
Since then, the two have stuck together and, over the years, have become extremely successful as hosts and presenters. The duo can be recognized from shows like Britain’s Got Talent, Friends Like These, Pop Idol, Push The Button, and their most famous work, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, from which the two decided to take a breather some time back.
The duo is also a popular choice for hosting award shows and actually hosted the Brit Awards in 2001 and consecutively, in 2015 and 2016. Since their first meeting for the show, Byker Grove, it did not take the two very long to become friends and later partners. It is very rare to see the two apart, and one can honestly question if they ever get tired of each other.
Apparently not, because there has been almost no public appearance the two have made where they were not together. The duo has been cast in movie roles together, they have played small roles in shows, and they have also released music together though it did not work out all that well for them. It can be easily said that there is absolutely nothing that the two may have done separately.
The duo, Ant & Dec, have established themselves in the industry as the most awarded presenters and hosts, and the duo proudly holds the Guinness World Record for the same too. Though the duo has been around for quite a while, they are most commonly only known for their show, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, one that features many famous celebrities playing light games and quizzes, and their roles of Duncan and PJ in their first-ever show, Byker Grove.
The two continued promoting themselves with their characters’ names, even after the show ended, even recreating some of their scenes on their present show, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Ant & Dec’s Net Worth
While the pair recently announced their break from their rigorous working schedule, it has to be noted that the two have been working nonstop for years and rightfully deserve a break. Over the years of constant working hours, the duo has managed to earn enough to last them for days without working. As of 2023, the duo’s net worth was revealed to be around a total of 62 million pounds each.
Despite the loss that Dec’s nasty drinking habits and a failed marriage brought him, he has managed to earn the amount back and currently stands with a net worth more or less equal to that of his partner, Ant. It is a matter of a great deal for the duo since the two were known to have worked for Byker Grove for 100 pounds a day and have now managed to create something so incredibly huge with their hard work and efforts.
With ridiculously famous shows like Britain’s Got Talent, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here and Saturday Night Takeaway, which ran and had been running for so long, it is not a shock that the two managed to collect such wealth. News that the two have signed a contract with ITV for a total of almost 40 million pounds got released earlier this year.
Despite having minor controversies and certain legal issues, the two have managed to keep up their image and are actually the first choice for a lot of shows when it comes to selecting a host. At some point in their career, they also ranked eighteenth on the list of some of the most influential people in Britain. The two were also revealed to have their own production houses, named Teecourt for Ant and Deecourt for Dec.
Not a lot is known about their personal assets except for the rumored 10 million pounds house that the duo apparently own. Even so, they are living a comfortable life and are a common household name. The two plan on going on a hiatus to heal and “catch their breath” right after the release of the twentieth season of their show, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, which will be released in 2024.
