Andi Dorfman, former star of The Bachelorette, experienced a health setback just days after giving birth to her daughter, Harper Bell Hart. On December 28, Dorfman shared her situation through an Instagram Story, where she appeared smiling in a hospital bed while holding her newborn.
“Welp, we’re back!” the new mom, 37, captioned the photo. Dorfman revealed she needed a “quick/safe procedure” but enjoyed a brief cuddle with Harper beforehand. She also humorously noted how motherhood had changed her, joking about her newfound aversion to anesthesia.
Although Dorfman didn’t share specifics about her health issue or the procedure, she encouraged her followers to trust their instincts. “No matter how clueless you are about motherhood, you still know your body best,” she advised. Dorfman acknowledged the challenges of recovery but emphasized the importance of listening to one’s body and instincts.
Dorfman and her husband, Blaine Hart, welcomed Harper on December 20, 2024. Two days later, they announced the news on Instagram, sharing their excitement and revealing Harper’s name. “Our sweet girl came into this world at a solid 7lbs 13 ounces and towering tall like her Daddy at 20.5 inches!” the couple wrote.
The proud parents gushed about their love for Harper, with Dorfman admitting she cries just looking at her, while Blaine is already “wrapped around her cute little finger.”
In their announcement, the couple explained the significance of Harper’s middle name, Bell. Blaine chose it as a tribute to the Italian word Bellissima, meaning “beautiful.” This nod to Italy reflects its importance in their lives, with Dorfman noting it will remain a cherished part of Harper’s identity.
Dorfman concluded the post with gratitude for the well-wishes, calling Harper “the best gift we have ever received.”
