This Turkish series, which is a remake of the renowned 2009 drama “Binbir Gece,” often known as “1001 Nights”, premiered its first official episode on 8th January 2023 and has since been a crowd favorite among Turkish viewers and has also received love from its global fans. Al Thaman, which roughly translates to “The Price” in English, stars Bassel Khaiyyat and Razane Jammal as its central characters.

The story of Al Thaman revolves around Zein, a rich heir and son to Sarah’s boss, our female protagonist, who works at his architecture firm. The two of them find themselves forming an alliance over Sarah’s need for monetary help, which later turns into something more than being mere acquaintances. Will their relationship, which was based solely on money, develop into something deeper?

Synopsis

Zein is portrayed as a man who despises women because of a past experience that has prevented him from being vulnerable to others. In order to prevent losing himself to another woman, he has built thick walls around himself. He makes sure that nobody can enter his personal area by breaking down these walls.

Sarah, on the other hand, is a divorced mother of a son suffering from leukemia who worked under Zein’s father, Mr Ibrahim. Due to her son’s condition suddenly getting worse and in need of urgent treatment, she now required a large sum of money to do so.

Sarah was beginning to lose faith because no one was willing to help her pay for her son’s medical care, and the bank, too, had rejected her request for a loan. Zein offered to pay her expenses and give her financial support when she was left with no other option but to turn to him as her last chance.

Zein’s only condition was for Sarah to spend the night with him in exchange for financial assistance. At first, Sarah was reluctant and well aware of the fact that there was no justifiable reason for her to accept such an absurd condition. But in the end, she gives in to Zein’s desire since she is a mother and wants the best for her kid.

As the two of them are now bound by monetary ties, Zein begins to regret his previous actions and wants to start over with Sarah after finding out the real reason for her desperate need for money. The two of them slowly grow fond of each other as they get closer.

Al Thaman Episode 83 Preview (Spoilers!)

In Al Thaman Episode 82, we saw how Tima was being pestered by Saleh. Although she had paid him back all the money she owed, he still refused to leave her alone. Zein’s father, Mr. Ibrahim, who was on the verge of breaking down and was in need of desperate help, was interrupted by Noor, which makes it hard for him to open up further.

In Al Thaman Episode 83, we will witness Sarah making amendments with Sumayya, who regrets her harsh treatment towards the former and wants to patch things up. On the other hand, Zein, who had been aloof from Karam’s identity for a while, lashed out his anger at the people who kept Karam’s true self a secret, holding a grudge against each one of them.
