In Al Thaman, or “The Price” in English, a divorced mother is forced to strike a deal with her boss in exchange for the long life of her kid. The two main characters of Al Thaman’s storyline are Zein and Sarah. This coming Thursday, Al Thaman Episode 48 will be airing! Al Thaman is popular among both its Arab and international audiences thanks to the suspense and tension that surrounds the series and the anticipation of our two characters falling in love.
Premiering its first episode on 8th January, this Lebanese series is an adaptation of an award-winning Turkish show called ‘Binbir Gece’ or ‘1001 Nights’. Featuring actors famous in the Arab entertainment industry- Bassel Khaiyyat, Razane Jammal, Nicolas Mouwad, and Sara Abi Khan, Al Thaman is a show you would not want to miss out on!
Synopsis
Zein is portrayed as a man who despises women because of specific events in the past, which left him unwilling to open up to others. He has built up strong walls around him so he won’t lose himself to another woman again. He makes sure that nobody is capable of getting past these barriers and entering his personal space.
Sarah, on the other end, is a divorced mother of a leukemia-stricken son who urgently needs money for his treatment. Sarah, an architect working for Zein’s father, Mr. Ibrahim, was beginning to lose faith because no one would lend a hand in helping her pay for her son’s medical expenses. The bank had rejected her request for a loan, and there was no other source of financial aid coming through, leaving Sarah anxious about how to help ease her son’s sufferings.
Zein, her supervisor, offered to cover her bills and help her financially when she had no other choice but to turn to him as her last resort. In exchange for the financial support, Zein just requested one thing – to spend the night with him.
The absurdity of this whole deal was immediately apparent to Sarah, who saw that there was no logical reason for her to agree to such a proposal. Yet, in the end, she submits to Zein’s demand in exchange for the health of her son.
As the story goes on, feelings start to grow between Zein and Sarah. Zein realizes the true reason why Sarah asked for money, and Sarah, on the other hand is able to get through Zein’s defenses and tear down his walls.
