Yuto Suzuki’s popular manga series, Sakamoto Days, is expanding with a new spin-off called ‘Sakamoto Holidays,’ as announced on the color page of chapter 168 in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 27.
The spin-off, titled Sakamoto Holidays, will debut in Shueisha’s Saikyo Jump’s August issue on July 4, 2024. It will be illustrated by Tetsu Ohkawa, who was previously an assistant on the main Sakamoto Days series.
Sakamoto Days, created by Yuto Suzuki, has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020 and has released 16 tankobon volumes as of April 2024. The series is also published in English by Viz Media and Manga Plus.
The story follows Tarou Sakamoto, once revered as the greatest hitman, who left the criminal underworld after falling in love.
Now a humble convenience store clerk, Sakamoto’s past catches up with him as former rivals and associates seek to eliminate him, fearing he may still pose a threat. Bound by his vow to never kill again, Sakamoto must outwit and subdue his adversaries to protect his family, store, and the peaceful town he now calls home.
An anime adaptation by TMS Entertainment is scheduled to premiere in January 2025, adding to the excitement surrounding Sakamoto Days and its expanding universe.
