About A Journey Through Another World
A Journey Through Another World, a.k.a Isekai Yururi Kiko: Kosodate Shinagara Bokensha Shinnasum, is a novel written by Shizuru Minazuki and illustrated by Yamakawa. The novel started serializing in June 2016, and to date, it has over fifteen volumes.
Later, on January 17, 2018, a manga adaptation was released by AlphaPolis. The manga is now being illustrated by Tomomi Mizuna. It has over seven volumes to date. Both the novel and the manga are still going on.
Just recently, an anime adaptation of A Journey Through Another World was announced for 2024, which is being animated by EMT Squared. The studio is known for its work on Kuma Kuma Bear anime.
Plot
One day, a god makes a mistake, due to which Takumi Kayano loses his life and gets reincarnated in another world. When Kayano wakes up, he finds himself in another world that is a perilous forest filled with various monsters.
In that forest, Takumi meets a twin of a boy and a girl. At first, they were a bit scared of Takumi, so he approached gently. He cleans their clothes through magic and also heals them. He even provides the twins with fruit, which both of them enjoy. Since they didn’t have names, Takumi named them Allen and Elena and decided to take care of them.
Takumi then takes both of them on a journey to the nearby town. While they were going, they came across giant boars blocking their way. Right after seeing those Boars, Allen and Elena run toward them to attack. Takumi was really shocked to see that even after being five years old, they were too strong.
Takumi gets worried, so he asks them to inform him before they do something. And later in their journey, they came across a large bear. So the twins, Allen and Elena, go towards Takumi to inform him about it and then quickly attack the bear.
Takumi pats them for informing them before doing anything. And the twin gets happy after getting patted by Takumi. They also have a campfire at night, and the twins enjoy eating with Takumi. When it was time for their sleep, Takumi made a tent using his magic, and the three of them slept together. And this was the beginning of Takumi’s journey in Aetherdia.
Anime Announcement
On 29 November 2023, AlphaPolis announced that A Journey Through Another World novel will get an anime adaptation, which will be released in 2024.
The voice actors for the twins, Allen and Elena, have also been announced, which are going to Aina Suzuki and Miharu Hanai. Fun fact, Aina Suzuki and Miharu Hanai are sisters in real life, so it will be really interesting to see how they will pull off the roles of the twin siblings, Allen and Elena.
A Journey Through Another World will be animated by EMT Squared. The studio is known for its work on Kuma Kuma Bear anime, so the twins are going to look really cute in the anime, as EMT Squared does its job properly in the section.
