Murdertown Last Episode Recap
Presenter Emilia Fox begins her narration of “Mablethorpe,” Episode 5 of the mystery series Murdertown while roaming on the dunes of the Lincolnshire coast. It is a horrific narrative, not an enchanting one.
Everything started in Nottingham following the death of criminal lord Colin Gunn’s nephew Jamie Gunn. The assassination of the juvenile set in motion the actions that led to Gunn’s conviction for his role in the murder of John and Joan Stirland, a Carlton couple who were slain with Italian Baretta pistols at their home in Trusthorpe, Lincolnshire, in August 2004.
Joan Stirland’s son, Michael O’Brien, was involved in a fight outside the Sporting Chance pub in Bulwell a year ago. Jamie Gunn was inside the pub with his best friend Marvyn Bradshaw, who was scheduled to bring them all home when the brawl broke out outside, and O’Brien was hurt by an ashtray cut to his eyebrow.
O’Brien stormed away, only to return with his accomplice and fire at Marvyn’s car as he and his friends drove away. Following O’Brien’s arrest, shots were fired into his mother and stepfather’s Carlton home, prompting them to flee to the shore.
Jamie’s family stated at the time that the youngster never healed and committed suicide. Before O’Brien was convicted of Marvyn’s murder in July 2004, the 19-year-old saw him in court. Jamie died of pneumonia a few weeks later, on August 2, 2004. Gunn pledged unfathomable revenge on O’Brien.
With the assistance of his pals, he tracked the Sitrlands down to their bungalow in Trusthorpe. On August 8, an unarmed couple was brutally murdered by two gunmen wearing blue boiler suits. They were never discovered.
According to cell phone data, Gunn and his associates, Michael McNee and John Russell, was found around the Stirlands’ home in the days preceding the murders. All three were convicted guilty of a murder plot. According to police, support for the Bestwood cartel began to diminish following these executions.
