Drag Den Episode 2 release date is quite close. The series throws light on a drag competition as is already suggested by the title. It originated in the Philippines as a reality competition show. Amazon Prime Video is the creator and the sole sponsor of the same.
While talking about the series and how it led to an idea in Manila Luzon, the most popular Philippine drag queen, she said that the whole concept of Drag is not nonexistent in the country or is not developed enough.
Thus, to provide an outlet to all the amazing beauties out there was the best decision that Manila made. She talked about how she wants the talent from her home country to shine on international TV and for everyone to see these queens and fall in love with them as well as their own personal style of creativity and fashion.
While describing more regarding the series when it was still not released, Manila said that everything will be like a pageant.
About Drag Den Philippines
The work on this show under the banner of Amazon Prime Video started back in 2021. It was when Manila came forward with the teaser saying that there is a show which she is very excited to judge and host for her fellow drag queens.
Manila was particularly excited about how this show will give all the amazing fresh queens in the country, a platform to perform just like she was given by RuPaul. Now you guys should know that this series actually does have ties to RuPaul or the drag race she owns.
A casting call was also made last year where through Luzon’s TikTok where she invited queens from all over the country to present their talents and have an audition so that they could move further on the screen as well. But, well, there was a bit of shade involved in all of this. We saw that soon after the casting call made by Manila, even RuPaul stepped in to make a casting call for Drag Race Philippines.
There were a lot of fans who kind of understood what the game was being played at. Later, Jiggly Caliente, who was presented as a judge, talked about the whole situation in the media. She said that there is absolutely no rivalry between RuPaul and Manila as they both know about each other’s shows and how important they are.
Drag Den Episode 1 Recap
Now, it was not an easy thing putting the whole show up because it apparently went into a hiatus. Later, after the long duration in which it did not release, soon enough, the creators on TikTok announced the happy news and well, we are all here awaiting another episode of the season.
A teaser only came out last month in November, where we saw Manila Luzon as she sat on a throne in a dark room. A day later, without revealing the release date, the shoe talked about every contestant who has been selected for the Drag Den and will pursue on the screen. There were to be eight contestants overall who were going to walk down the runway.
Back in the first episode of the series, we saw that Catriona Gray was invited to the judging panel as a guest judge for the first episode of the season. She is also known as the Drag Enforcer. These queens are entering the drag cartel which is quite secretive and underground.
Nicole Cordoves welcomes them all and introduces herself as the Drag Dealer. Later in the episode, we met with Sassa Gurl, who is the new Drag Runner.
Drag Den Episode 2 Release Date
Drag Den Episode 2 release date is on the 15th of December 2022. The episode is titled Drag Trippin. It will drop out on Amazon Prime Video. New episodes will be released here every week on Thursdays.
Fans can buy a subscription to the platform for just 8.99 dollars a month. The higher plan comes with a Prime subscription although this one does not show any ads either. The Prime plan costs 13.99 dollars a month or a collective 139 dollars a year.
