While Jiro and Akari are starting to feel for each other, Shiori and Jiro are also becoming close. It was revealed not long ago that Shiori felt the same way as Jiro, but she is insecure about sharing her feelings with him.
This insecurity has led to keeping her emotions bottled up and creating assumptions about the boy she has fallen for. While Shiori has the help of Mei in helping get closer to Jiro, Jiro and Akari are naturally getting closer to each other. Every episode is spent in a way the two learn more about each other.
In the last episode, we saw Jiro learning how he could motivate Akira to study despite being rebellious about it. He managed to get her to learn things that she wouldn’t otherwise. She tried to get out of it by seducing him and utilizing two of four of her charms, but Jiro didn’t fall for it and made sure she studied.

What is More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers about?
Jiro’s school has announced that every person will be paired together as a group in dorms for a new school assignment. Jiro wants to be paired with his childhood friend and crush, Shiori, and she feels the same way. However, the pairing is random and meant to bring out the most in people, so Jiro ends up with one of the Gyaru’s of his class, Akari.
She has a crush on the most popular guy in the class, Tenjin. And so it happens that he is paired with Shiori of all people. Akari is not happy and is not happy to be paired up with Jiro, and he feels the same way. The two disagree to agree on many things, but one, whoever does well in their evaluation will be allowed to change their partner after a month’s end.
While Jiro and Akari agreed to get along for the sake of getting scores to change their partners, they can’t change their behavior towards each other easily. But in the process of getting better grades, things start to get better between them, and the two start to fall for each other. Will the two grow beyond the point where they will leave their crush behind and accept their feelings for each other? The point of the course is to prepare students for future love life, or is it?
