The story begins with a truck driver named Tara Singh, who is a Sikh. He falls in love with a Muslim girl named Sakina Ali. Sakina or Sakku belongs to an orthodox family who would surely not let her marry outside of her religion. In the film, we see that Sikhs and Hindus are vigorously attacked by Muslims living in Pakistan. This happens while they are migrating to India by train at the West Punjab railway station.

In response, a fight breaks out, and Sikhs and Hindus reply by killing the Muslims who are going to Pakistan from the East Punjab railway station. With the Hindu-Muslim riots breaking out in the country with the partition of India, we see Tara Singh planning to kill Muslims as well. Although, he has a change of heart when he witnesses Sakina at the railway station. He saves her and protects her from a very violent crowd who wants to kill her.
Sakina, who was about to migrate to Pakistan, lost her parents among a lot of crowd boarding the train. As the crowd tries to rape and kill Sakina, Tara Singh makes her his Sikh wife as he applies blood (symbolic of sindoor) to her forehead. When Sakina was standing at the railway station, she was holding a little Tajmahal antique. This was given to her by Tara as they have a huge history together. Gadar 2 release date is set for 2022. This film is titled The Katha Continues. The project was confirmed just last year in 2021. The authorities even released a poster for the film. It saw actors Sunny Deol, Amisha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma, which means they will all return for their roles in the film. Anil Sharma, yet again, is set to direct the entire project. Zee Studios are also on board with Gadar 2 as they are producing the tale. Although, the date is not set yet. With us being in August 2022, it is hopeful that the film releases by December this year.
The crew and cast started the shooting process earlier this year. They were at the La Martiniere College for an initial practice shoot where the crew spent afternoons.
