Love You Anyway follows a little girl as she grows from a child to a woman as she shares both the finest and saddest aspects of life with her childhood best friend, Lucas, through the changing formats of home video. Mackenzie is forced to find the strength to fight alongside the ones she loves the most as her battle with depression gets worse with time. An honest, intimate look into the personal hardships of overcoming sadness and accepting life’s challenges is presented in Love You Anyway.
As we begin Love You Anyway, Mackenzie and Lucas, two old friends, are introduced. Through their time at school and in competitions, the two were inseparable. Between friends, college presents a new obstacle. Lucas (Gillespie) is able to pursue his sporting ambitions. In a different college, Mackenzie (Edwards) discovers herself dealing with mental health issues. The lives of the pair are still being shown to us, showing the highs and lows that the two go through together as friends.

Characters & Performances
Mackenzie had a bright athletic career up until an injury cost her a year. She has trouble figuring herself out in life and choosing a college. Showing the decline in her mental health. She is addicted as a result of her battle with anxiety. Trying to guide people after her hardships and wanting to figure everything out too quickly. What keeps her going strong is her friendship with Lucas.
Since they were kids, Lucas and Mackenzie have been each other’s best friends, and he was able to pursue his sporting dreams. Something about which Mackenzie felt envious. For her, he will always be there, just as she will be for him. Through everything they encounter, they keep each other strong. The major roles are excellently performed by Reign Edwards and Charlie Gillespie. Both show a wide set of emotions that the characters experience throughout the course of the narrative and in real life.
