There’s nothing more interesting than to see two different fandoms collide with each other and help their idols win, and we absolutely love it. Just a word from their idol is more than enough for the fans to help others. This year, NBA star Andrew Wiggins became All-Star Starter for the season. And everyone was confused as hell. He was in competition with Luka Doncic, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul, who are considered more deserving players. And here’s how Andrew Wiggings became an NBA All-Star Starter (without having any connection to K-pop or the k-pop star BamBam.)
The winner of the ‘NBA Rookie of the Year’ title this year, Andrew Wiggins, is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors in NBA. He made his first All-Star appearance averaging 19.4 points per game. Drafted a year after college in 2014, Wiggins switched from Kansas Jayhawks to Cleveland Cavaliers. During the votes, he went from having the lowest votes to being the winner. With the All-Stars selection going on, the experts and fans had to make the decision to choose who would do honors as the starter.
To choose the starters, the experts refer to the voting system. They calculate 50 percent from the fans, 25 percent from media voters, and 25 percent from players.
How Was Andrew Wiggings Doing With The Votes?
Wiggins was having a hard time at the votes. The media and players both had their favorites, and Wiggings wasn’t on the list. LeBron James had 98 votes from the media. While Draymond Green had 58 votes, and Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert had 52 votes from the players. Wiggins was left with 46 votes by the players and 4 by the media. But when the results came out, the NBA media and fans were confused, having no idea how it happened. Andrew Wiggins won with over 3 million votes. And it was all thanks to the k-pop stans.

How Did K-pop Stans Help Andrew Wiggins?
So when in January 2022, GOT7’s BamBam asked his fans to help NBA star Andrew Wiggins and make him one of the most popular athletes out there, the k-pop fandom had a job to do. And the fandom made it sure to not disappoint their idol.

Who Is BamBam? Why Did He Ask His Fans To Vote For Andrew Wiggins?
Kunpimook Bhuwakul, more popularly known as BamBam, is one of the biggest names in the k-pop scene all over the world. And he is a huge Steph Curry fan. Hailing from Bangkok, Thailand, he went on to join JYP Entertainment in South Korea. And went on to make his debut in 2014 with the boy group GOT7. On January 8, 2022, BamBam was named as the Global Ambassador for the NBA Team Golden State Warriors.
