While the two have been notoriously private about their relationship, the Loki star has confirmed their engagement in a recent interview. The Marvel star also admitted that he is very happy. This is a rare comment made by the actor on the relationship while the pair already sparked engagement rumors a while ago.
The two have been dating for a while now came after the two played husband and wife in the Broadway play Betrayal. However, the two first met when the show was revving up in London before leaping to New York City. The pair have kept most of their relationship away from the media limelight. The Loki actor earlier had a high-profile relationship with singing sensation Taylor Swift.
The Pair Has Been Dating For A While Now!
The pair confirmed their relationship in September 2021 after making their red debut appearance as a couple at the Tony Awards, where their actor was nominated. Engagement rumors started doing the rounds at this year’s BAFTA Awards after Ashton was seen sporting the big rock while holding hands with her beau on the red carpet.
A source has given some insight into their relationship, saying that Zawe and Tom showed great affection for each other, and one could also see that coming off slightly in their onstage performance. It was further claimed that they just privately are affectionate and hugging and sitting next to each other and holding hands.
In the Broadway play Betrayal, Hiddleston starred as Robert, a man whose wife Emma, played by Ashton, was seen having an affair with his best friend, Jerry played by Charlie Cox, 39. The play revolves around infidelity in reverse, charting its aftermath to its beginnings. The play opened on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Tom Hiddleston also admitted that he loves playing Loki and has loved playing him every time. He further added that in every story, “there’s been a different iteration, a different director, a different spin on the ball if you like”.
