Maggie is irritated with Patricia Bloom’s mother about practically everything, including the “lucky socks” gift, when the episode begins. Gary had planned to attend Maggie at her In-Vitro Fertilization appointment, but he became ill unexpectedly. Maggie must instead invite her mum. Maggie unexpectedly sobs to her mother in the waiting room of a doctor’s office. She becomes worried that she may not be ready to be a mother after insisting to Gary that she will be able to manage In-vitro fertilization.

Patricia Bloom was not close to her daughter, yet she supported her through the ordeal. They have a wonderful moment together. Maggie and Gary discover that they have recovered 11 healthy eggs. Patricia later sends Maggie and Gary the newborn clothes in which they brought Maggie home. Then Dr. Anderson calls to inform Maggie that only one embryo survived.
Greta
Greta is surprised Katherine didn’t inform Shanice she had a girlfriend. Katherine also admits to kissing Shanice without telling the actor that she had a girlfriend. The tattoo artist is unhappy and proposes they take a break because they were both singles for only a brief time after their previous relationships. Katherine hasn’t heard from Greta in over a week. Carter returns to the episode and advises Katherine to pursue a relationship with Shanice Williamson.
So they meet for lunch, and Shanice praises Katherine for pushing her to tell the world the truth. Katherine decides to accompany Shanice to Miama, but changes her mind when considering how it will affect Greta. When Katherine locates Greta in the animal hospital, she discovers that Greta’s pet cat has perished. Greta’s wife, Julia, returns, and they share a touching embrace. When Katherine kisses Theo goodnight later, his room has finally been turned into a 12-year-old boy’s room! Other keen observers will notice that the artwork in Theo’s bedroom is no longer centered around dinosaurs and the rainforest.
Rome Faces A Bully
Maddox tells Rome how difficult it is for their parents to grasp that they have always felt uneasy as a girl. They request that Rome talk with their parents, and the instructor understands that their father, Clark Ainsworth, is the bully who erected the “Whites Only” sign on the water fountain. Clark apologizes for being harsh on Rome when they were younger when Claire and Clark meet for the parent-teacher conference.
Clark and Claire acknowledge that the “whole Maddox thing” is difficult to comprehend. Rome refers to Maddox using he/him pronouns throughout the discussion, making the parents uncomfortable. Later, they request that the dean dismiss Rome quickly because he is the source of the “Maddox crisis.”
Meanwhile, Regina attempts to surprise Tyrell at his Yale mixer but discovers he did not attend. Tyrell later lies to Gina when she inquires about it. He storms away when she confronts him. Tyrell, according to Valley, does not want to attend Yale.
