The ABC series is a reboot of the original that had a successful run from 1988 to 1993 and is produced by Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television. Both the series take place during the ’60s, and the plot revolves around the perspective of a 12-year-old kid who is navigating daily life with family and friends. Fred Savage played Kevin Arnold in the original show, while Elisha “EJ” Williams stars in the reboot. The season finale of the reboot is set to air on May 18.

Earlier, actress Alley Mills, who played Savage’s mother Norma Arnold in the original series, alleged a sexual harassment lawsuit against the actor and Jason Hervey. Jason Hervey played the role of Fred Savage’s older brother Wayne Arnold.
A similar accusation was made against the Savage by costume designer Youngjoo Hwang in 2018. As per the allegation, the actor created a hostile environment on the set of Fox’s The Grinder. As per the allegation, the actor berated her, struck her arm, and behaved aggressively toward female employees. However, a judge dismissed a gender-based lawsuit. Fred Savage earlier opened up about The Wonder Years reboot, admitting that he teared up after seeing the first episode of the reboot as the show is personal for him.
