At the same time, electronic signals start floating through the mobile networks. These signals turn mobile users into killers.

The movie proceeds toward the end with a lot of twists and turns. Clayton catches hold of the person behind the chaos and kills him. He also reunites with his family and blows up the place where all the infected people have gathered. But later in one of the scenes, he is seen among the phoners and is walking with them. Survivors escape to Boston
All the group members plan to go to Boston. While moving out, Clayton goes through New England with the hope of finding his wife and kid, but he fails. The group members steal weapons to protect them. Some phoners chase them and they give try their best to remain hidden.
The headmaster of the school dies
Continuing on their route to the north, they reach a school and meet two other people, headmaster Charles and Jordon. Phoners had taken shelter in the school’s main field. Charles gives them an idea to blow the phoners by gas pumps and sprayer trucks. This causes a massive fire and burns Charles along with the phoners.
Clay Riddell’s wife turns into a phoner
The group comes in contact with a survivor, Ray Huizenga. They get information that Kashwak, a trap is set by Raggedy Man. Ray is furious and gives his phone to Clay to drop a message regarding their whereabouts, but Ray bombs himself. The group goes to Sharon’s house and finds out that she has become a phoner and John is proceeding to Kashwak. Clay kills Sharon.
Clay and Johnny reunite
Clayton arrives at Kashwak and finds several phoners walking around. The main target, Raggedy Man was present in the middle of the tower and Clay did not leave the opportunity and shot him. Clay hears his son’s voice and finds out that he also has become a phoner, but hugs him. Raggedy Man becomes alive and Clay explodes the place. The explosion appears to be an illusion as Clay also gets infected.
