April 2022 boy group member brand reputation rankings are out! Since K-Pop is consumed widely across the world in the present times, it becomes necessary to find who is trending and who is doing the best. The Korean Business Research Institute drops a list every month to make things easier. It prepares a list of brand reputation rankings by compiling data from various indexes.
These include consumer participation (any brand the idol is endorsing), media coverage, artists’ communication with fans, and community awareness. Basically, it just portrays how well a band or its members are doing. The one who ranks the highest is considered to be popular among audiences on a lot of levels. Fans wait for this list every month to find out how their ults are faring.
The April’s list is out for us to see and undoubtedly, BTS is reigning the charts, like always. The rankings are similar to the ones that came out in March. Additionally, we have some new entrants too. Let’s go through the brand reputation ranking for the month of April.

With these rankings done, let’s countdown to the idols who made their place in the Top 10 rankings.
10. Song Mino of WINNER
The WINNER member Song Mino ranks 10th in the ranking. Lately, the members of the 2014 group made an appearance on the “Oh Eun Young’s Golden Clinic”. The show invited the idols to talk about their issues with the psychiatrist Oh Eun Young. All the members got very candid and opened up about their struggles. Mino revealed how he struggled with panic disorder and also got diagnosed with manic depressive disorder.
9. Kim Heechul of Super Junior
Kim Heechul always manages to remain in the news. His stint in the long-running show Running men is quite popular and helps in his global popularity. Recently on a YouTube series, Street Alcohol Fighter, Heechul was caught up in a controversy. His comment which might have been inappropriate for a show for all ages threw him under the truck. Numerous articles were written about the incident.
8. Cha Eun Woo of ASTRO
The nation’s heartthrob Eun Woo made it to the top 10 again, though this time 5 ranks lower. He endorses a lot of brands and his social media engagement is excellent. Furthermore, he also released a heartfelt song for AROHAs, and fans didn’t hold back from pouring him all the love.
7. Lee Jun Ho of 2PM
The drama Red Sleeve ended a while ago. But, Lee Jun Ho has managed to stay in the news. The first news wasn’t a happy one as he got diagnosed with COVID-19. But recently, Jun Ho became the first idol to have won the grand award for acting. Lee Jun Ho won the award for best actor at the prestigious 34th Korea PD awards. In addition to this, he has also been nominated for the 58th Baeksang Awards for his work in Red Sleeve.
6. Jungkook of BTS
The sold-out king of BTS Jungkook has gone up a rank higher this month. Thanks to his super active presence on social media. The idol was diagnosed with COVID-19 as soon as he landed in the US for the Grammys and for their concert. But to assure his fans that he was okay, he uploaded videos, and also went on a Q&A spree with Armys. For 2 consecutive days, Jungkook came on insta and responded to Army’s questions in his signature “cute” way. Armys know what I mean. His flirtation skills were also quite a topic of discussion as fans lost their marbles at the maknae’s “smooth like Butter” sweet-talking.
5. Jin of BTS
The eldest of the septet BTS ranked higher to 5th position this month. With BTS making their appearance at the Grammys this year and their ongoing tour of PTD on Stage in Vegas, BTS have been in the buzz. Jin got an injury in one of his fingers before the concert and had to undergo surgery for it. Army sent a lot of good wishes to Jin for his fast recovery. Due to this injury, Jin’s performance has also been limited at the Grammys and the first two days of the Vegas tour.
One of the sensitive topics of military enlistment of BTS came up again and Seokjin didn’t refrain from giving a clear answer about how the members have left the decision up to their company. They will enlist if and when duty calls. Let me remind you that BTS has received the special benefit of deferring their military enlistment till the age of 30 instead of the rule of 28 for all citizens.
4. V of BTS
The third consecutive member of BTS on this list is V aka Kim Taehyung. V is really active on social media too and is on a constant spree of posting and deleting stuff, which armys find both amusing and frustrating at the same time. User thv’s recent posts in Vegas stirred up a lot of buzz. His picture with Anderson Paak along with members J-Hope and Jungkook made rounds on the internet. His quiet date with Jon Batiste was also talked about.
The real news came from the Grammys where he apparently flirted with Olivia Rodrigo. The internet broke quite literally over this interaction as some armys cooed over the cute and funny interaction, while the rest sobbed about how they wished they were Olivia. Another controversy that popped up was that V was apparently snapped smoking. Of course, it’s not clear if Taehyung is indeed smoking, and it’s absolutely okay if he does. But a lot of different opinions poured over the picture.
3. Kang Daniel of Wanna One
Kang Daniel would always be famous. The former Wanna One leader, and now a soloist and an actor too always rank high on brand reputation rankings. His show Rookie Cops came to an end a few weeks ago, but his popularity thankfully didn’t. Recently the Japanese singer MIYAVI dropped a full-length song “Hush Hush” feat. Kang Daniel. I’d like to tell you that a Korean version of this song exists in Daniel’s voice only which he released for his OST for Rookie Cops.
Daniel’s brand reputation index score was 5,468,359, which is a 25.92% increase from his March reputation index.
2. G-Dragon of BIGBANG
BIGBANG is the K-Pop group that would never go out of style. The group made its comeback after 4 years, and the netizens are here for it. The individual poster for “Still Life” featuring G-Dragon was released. The idol’s aesthetically pleasing picture with his long hair had fans screaming. Fans took over social media to announce their appreciation for the picture.
Also 3 days back, G-Dragon posted some mirror selfies which had fans surprised. The braces and the multicolored shag left some fans shocked while some loved the unfiltered vibe. G-Dragon saw a 335.02% rise in the brand reputation index making his score 5,756,906.
1. Jimin of BTS
Jimin’s winning streak continues as he ranks first for the third month consecutively on the brand reputation rankings. April boy group member brand reputation rankings show Park Jimin topping the list. Jimin is not that active on social media, and maybe that fact helps since Armys keep trending him on Twitter all the time. Hence, all those hashtags about Jimin really do help his brand reputation. It also proves how popular Jimin is among his fans.
Along with this, there has been news of Jimin releasing an OST for the ongoing K-Drama Our Blues. Fans are really excited about this song as this will mark the debut of Jimin in the K-Drama OST world. He scored 6,877,359 on the reputation index, noting a 33.72% increase since March. Jimin was also the recipient of 87.09 positive reactions on the positivity-negativity analysis.
