In Kung Fu (2021) Season 2 Episode 6, as Zhilan & Russell Tan approach closer to their prey in “Reunion,” the whole Shen family gets involved in the quest for Mia. Ryan decides to speak with Sebastian in order to clear the air. Sebastian realizes that his laid-back personality may have cost him the job, so he says he doesn’t really want things to grow weird between them. Althea’s company is quickly outgrowing her house, but she refuses to borrow money from her in-laws.
Althea is inspired by her new office space in Jin’s relative’s art studio, and she decides on a new focus for her business. Despite the fact that they would only have little information, the Shens are all active in the search for Mia. They are aware that Mia is on the lookout for her father, John Liu. The crew develops a list of possible John Liu matchups from all over the globe. As Evan arrives to aid with the search, Nicky apologizes for what happened at work. On a road trip with Henry and Nicky, Nicky encounters Pei-Ling for the first time. Let’s go through all these in detail.
Kung Fu (2021) Season 2 Episode 6 Review & Recap
Melody Dumplings, a new diner, sends Mei-Li a pamphlet in the mail. Mei-Li is outraged because they claim to have a shorter service time than Harmony Dumplings. When her old line chef joins the new restaurant, things get even worse. Sebastian tries to make her feel better by reminding her that they wouldn’t be trying to copy her if she wasn’t winning the competition. He gets some dumplings from the opposition for them to try in order to learn more about their rival. Both are relieved that the dumplings are no match for Mei-Li’s. It lifts Mei-Li’s spirits in the way Sebastian meant, and she expresses her gratitude to him for being there now that Jin has stepped away. Sebastian’s rough edges begin to melt as a result of the compliment.
Meanwhile, Ryan resolves to speak with Sebastian and clear the issue. Sebastian understands his too-cool attitude may have cost him his shot, so he says he doesn’t want things to get strange between them. Sebastian calls Ryan to meet for drinks later that night at the pub. He confesses to Ryan that he can’t get his mind off of him. Sebastian admits that he adores Harmony Dumplings and is afraid of losing his opportunity to grow with the establishment rather than moving on like he typically does. He has no desire to become involved with the boss’s son. Ryan takes a risky step and leans in for a kiss. Even if it’s a stupid idea, Sebastian and Ryan appear to be on board for the time being.
Althea’s Start-up
Althea’s business is outgrowing her home, but she refuses to take money from her in-laws. Her team is losing faith in her since she is unsure. Althea approaches Jin for help with her irregular electricity since she needs her baba in more ways than one. He provides her with a lead on office space as well as some fatherly advice. Althea gets a burst of inspiration from her new office space at Jin’s friend’s art studio, and she settles on a greater focus for her company. She’ll launch I Know Someone, a new social network aimed at helping people build local relationships in their communities.

The Shens Search For Mia
Shens are on the lookout for Mia, based on the information they have. They are aware that Mia is on the lookout for her Guardian father, John. The crew compiles a list of possible John Liu matches from around the world. With each fresh lead, their list gets shorter and shorter, but they’re still no closer to figuring their match. Nicky says sorry for what happened at work as Evan arrives to assist with the search. Evan proposes to have Nadia hack into the DA’s files on Mia, but although Nicky doesn’t want him to take any chances, Nadia is willing to assist. She hacks into his files, saying she texted Evan an improper picture and needs to remove it to hide her tracks from the DA.
This results in Mia sighting in Reno, where Althea breaks into a bus schedule using this knowledge. They discover that one of the John Liu candidates resides in one of the towns served by the bus line. They decide to search for Mia in Medford, Oregon, because driving is faster. Henry and Nicky go on a road trip together, and Nicky sees Pei-Ling for the first time. She tells Shifu about her worries for Mia, and Pei-Ling tells her to be open and trust her intuition.
Mia Meets Her Father John Liu
Mia appears at John Liu’s doorway in Oregon as one of Tan’s men observes from his car. Mia is seeking answers, and John expresses his love for Mei-Xue. He was assigned to guard the crossbow while Mei-Xue searched for the sword. John tells Mia that they realized they had to separate since it would be too risky for others to know there was a kid born to a Warrior and a Guardian. John says he is not the one who buried Mei-Xue, but he remembers Mia every day. He was afraid of being followed by their enemies if he tried to locate them. However, while Mia is tearfully telling her story, John gets a text. He was one of those who informed the Tan family of her impending arrival. He injects her with a drug and expresses regret that she came.
Nicky and Henry arrive too late to help Mia, but it soon becomes clear that the Tans aren’t the only ones chasing her. They will be greeted by Zhilan. She taunts Nicky for not being able to defend Mia thus far, but they both have the same aim in mind: to keep Mia safe from Russell Tan. They are compelled to work together. Zhilan has one of Tan’s men in her custody, and she intends to make him talk.
The thought of torture is clearly unappealing to Henry and Nicky. Nicky requests five minutes with the prisoner alone. She warns him that Tan will kill him regardless of whether he speaks or not and that if he doesn’t speak to Nicky, Zhilan will make his death considerably more painful. If he tells Nicky where Mia is, she will offer him the opportunity to escape Tan and start afresh. He accepts the offer. Zhilan still wants to murder him to wrap up loose ends, observing that if she lets him go now, this thug will just phone Tan and inform him Nicky is coming. Nicky makes a deal with Henry: he’ll stay with the guy while Nicky and Zhilan go after Mia.
Mia, Zhilan & Nicky
John informs Mia at Tan’s facility that Tan had known about Mia for months and had contacted John. He threatened to murder his new growing family if he didn’t give up Mia, and he revealed that Tan was the one who murdered Mei-Xue. Nicky and Zhilan strike a deal: they’ll work together to find Mia and then let her choose between them. Nicky adds a condition: no one should be killed in the process. They defeat all of the guards by working together, with Zhilan approaching Mia first. She takes off on her bike with Mia, abandoning Nicky in the dust.
Mia questions Zhilan about why she’s safeguarding her and also how she knows who she is at a safe place. All Zhilan knows regarding Mia is that Tan is now after her, and that’s all the justification she needs to help, according to her. Mia agrees to join Zhilan in making Russell Tan pay. Nicky locates Zhilan and Mia. Nicky tells Mia that Zhilan is a serial killer who shouldn’t be trusted, and Zhilan agrees with Nicky. But Zhilan tells Mia that they’re dealing with Tan, and they’ll have to do whatever it takes to bring him down.
Nicky is attacked by Zhilan, but Mia gets involved. Mia approaches Nicky and throws Zhilan off of her, displaying her might as a Warrior as well as a Guardian. Nicky inquires about Mia’s plans, and Mia responds that she has no idea. She wants to pursue Russell Tan, but she is aware that she cannot rely on Zhilan. Nicky offers to drive her back to San Francisco, saying that the entire Shen family is eager to help Mia despite her having run away. Nicky and Henry convince Mia to accompany them. Mia is greeted with a breakfast feast by the Shens when she returns home. Mia eventually recognizes she’s at home with her family, no matter what happens next.
