Bang Si-Hyuk known professionally as Hitman Bang is the founder of Hybe Corporation and Big Hit music. He then became a chairman of Hybe Corporation (formerly called Big Hit Entertainment). Bang Si-Hyuk is a South Korean lyricist, composer, producer, and record executive born on 9th August 1972.
Hybe Corporation was founded in 2005. It now has over 1000 employees and seven subsidiaries including BTS( Big Hit music), Seventeen (Pledis Entertainment), GFriend (Source Music), Zico (Koz Entertainment), Enhypen (Samsung C&T), Belift lab, and Hybe America. Hybe Corporation is South Korea’s largest music label and entertainment agency.
Bang Si-Hyuk, is a singer and songwriter in his own right. He is also one of the 50 Korea’s richest people. So far, Hitman Bang is the first person to become The K-POP billionaire in history. The reason behind Bang Si-Hyuk’s nickname is not because he is a billionaire or the founder of big hit music. Before he went on to be the founder of the world’s biggest entertainment corporation, he was a songwriter and a composer. He has written lyrics for some hit songs such as 2 AM’s “L.O.V.E,” Jo Sungmo’s “I Will Smile.” These hit songs were featured in the 2010 famous K-drama Coffee Prince.’

Early Life
Bang Si-Hyuk was an avid reader ever since a young age. Coming from a literary background, one can say his mother had some influence on him. Bang Si-Hyuk graduated from Seoul National University, one of the most difficult Universities to get admission from. From there he began songwriting. And later in 1997, his friend Park Jin-Young became the founder of JYP entertainment. Bang Si-Hyuk worked as a songwriter and producer. He even produced g.o.d.’s ‘Sky Blue Balloon’. Later in 2005, he left the company and founded his own company, that is Big Hit Entertainment.

He shared in one of TIME’s interviews when asked how did he find such great members for the band BTS’: ” I first signed RM right away when he was 15, but at that time it was a hip-hop crew and when I changed the crew to k-pop idol, many left.
Only RM, Suga and J-hope stayed who then became the pillars of BTS’. Then later on the other members joined the band.” Thank goodness, they all stayed in the band. Otherwise, we would not have got to experience such a global phenomenon! Butter’s single lead Billboards Hot 100 for nine weeks!
