This new season, Ben and Erin renovate different houses in the historic district of Lauderdale after they get approached by clients to build their new dream house by renovating the ones they already own, basically turning their ordinary homes into their dream ones.
The entire series is based on the concept of Ben and Erin working together as a team to build dream houses for their clients, who approached them after buying a home in the historic district of Lauderdale.
The previous season witnessed Erin and Ben helping several of their clients find and turn their homes into their dream houses, including a man who decides to reevaluate his life and move to be with his loved ones following a tragedy and a California couple who decide to relocate to Lauderdale and desire to have a Victorian-style house.
The new season’s first season witnessed a family moving to Laurel to escape the Canadian cold weather after they decided that they had enough of it, as they are a family of six with four boys of their own.
The family was looking for a big house with a big room that had plenty of outdoor space for the boys to enjoy; thus, they sought Erin and Ben to help build their dream house, following which the pair showed the couple a rural bungalow that was built on a huge piece of land with the backyard they desired to have.
The second episode had a civil engineer and artist moving from Seattle to Laurel to be closer to his dad; thus, they sought Erin and Ben’s help to find his dream home, giving them a generous budget to work with, following which the pair showed them two large houses.

Home Town Season 8 Episode 2 will be available for viewers on January 14, 2024, on HGTV and Discovery+ at 8:00 PM [E.T.] and will focus on a civil engineer seeking help from Ben and Erin to find his dream house following his decision to move to Laurel to be close to his dad.
The episode has the engineer giving a decent budget with the only demand being the presence of an outdoor bathtub for the pair to find their dream house, following which the pair shows him two brilliant large houses that look promising for the lad’s modern-contemporary vibes.
