Katja Hannchen Leni Riemann is a 60-year-old German actress, writer, and UNICEF Ambassador. Her parents were teachers, and she was born and raised in Weyhe-Kirchweyhe, West Germany. Further, she studied music and theater in Hamburg.
Katja recently played Toni Goldschlag in ‘Stella A Life’ released in September 2023. It is a 120-minute-long period drama which shows the condition of a young German Jew during the Nazi rule in Germany.
Katja received three Bavarian film awards. Besides that, she is known for her appearances in Bandits (1997), Desire (2000), Blood & Chocolate (2007), The Foster Boy (2011), Coming In (2014), Forget About Nick (2017), and more.
Bandits (1997) created a controversy when the director decided to film some sequences in a music video style. She recently got nominated as TIME’s Person of the Year, which is debatable because some people think Katja must be judged on what she is today rather than what she achieved in the past.
Katja Riemann’s Partner
Katja’s current relationship is not reported, and she must be single. She had four relationships, but only three could be reported. She was in relationships with Peter Sattmann, Raphael Alexander Beil, and Michael Wenninger.
Katja was in a relationship with the German actor and musician Peter Sattmann from 1990 to 1998. They met in 1990 on the set of a film and worked together again in a television movie that goes by her name, Katja Riemann, in which she portrayed herself.
Katja and Peter welcomed their first daughter, Paula Riemann, in 1993. Paula appeared in some kids’ movies and looks forward to being a director. Katja reportedly prioritized her daughter, Paula, and her now ex-boyfriend, Peter.
Peter Sattmann is a 76-year-old musician and actor who performed on the stage and in movies. He married at twenty-one and welcomed one of his daughters in 1970. Apart from music and acting, he tried his luck in writing and directing a few plays and smoked for over ten years.
Peter reportedly stated that being old sucks because he required ten pills every twelve hours to survive when he was fifty. Moreover, he has high blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, and diabetes. He wrote his autobiography but did not know whether he would live to see it published.
Raphael Alexander Beil
Katja had a twelve-year-long relationship with the freelance German sculptor Raphael Alexander Beil from 2007 after breaking up with Peter. Raphael reportedly broke up with her over a phone call that began with a friendly conversation in late summer 2019. However, Katja’s friends stated that she did not want it.
The 60-year-old sculptor was born in Hamburg and completed his training in stone sculpting in Winnenden in 1986. Further, he passed out from the Alanus University of Arts in 1991 and worked under some professionals. He became a freelancer sculptor in 1992.
Paula Riemann
Paula Riemann, aka “Paula Romy,” is a German choreographer and filmmaker born in Berlin. Acting runs in her blood because her parents, Peter and Katja, are actors. She went to London at seventeen to get trained in dancing and earn degrees in filmmaking and business management. Apart from that, she is an award-winning comedian.
Paula has a private Instagram account, which hints that she must be comfortable living a private life, though her mother frequently shares her ideas on Instagram.
Michael Wenninger
Katja’s relationship with Michael Wenninger lasted three years, and they broke up in 2006 when he was thirty-six. However, they had wedding plans, and she confessed that she felt safe with him. She and Michael played a married couple in an intense play ‘Heart Beats Death.’
Katja and Michael confessed to being exhausted after coming home after performing in the play. Some things worked automatically because it was not a film, where everything must look perfect. The duo also recorded a duet, Les Choses De La vie (The Things of Life).
The former couple attended the German Film Ball together in January 2004 at the Bayerischer Hof in Munich, Germany. They lived together in Berlin and raised her daughter, Paula. However, Michael has split from Katja, and she has to record her music alone.
Michael was born in November 1969 in Wolfratshausen, Germany. He is a theatre actor working in Heidelberg and Coburg. He appeared in a German police procedural television series, Tatort (Crime Scene). Thus, his collaboration with Katja on the stage must have turned fruitful for the audience sitting in the stands on both sides of the stage.
Besides that, Michael also appeared in Phoenix (2014), a movie about a disfigured holocaust survivor hunting for her lost love interest, and For Heaven’s Sake (2002), a light-hearted comedy about nuns.
