We will see Lylia fall into her old habits as she goes to the place she used to call home in her last reincarnation. Leo will be the main focus of the plot in the coming chapter as Lance had his fill in the chapters before Let the Saintess Be Selfish Chapter 21.
It begins with Myria, the head saintess, dying and reincarnating as Lylia in the new life while holding on to the powers of her past life. The saintess decided that she wouldn’t tend to anyone in this life and instead focus on her needs. Or that was what her plan was going to be for her second iteration at life, but that didn’t last long.
As soon as Lylia met the people from her past, her heart began to dwindle, and her choices were uncertain. The boys she had known then had grown up to be handsome men, and they were right around her age. The not-so-awkward love triangle will now begin between the three, with the two male leads being none the wise.
Recap
Let the Saintess Be Selfish Chapter 20 saw a crack formed between Leo and Lylia as a misunderstanding stemmed between the two. This sends Saintess Lylia into a bit of a spiral as she realizes that it has caused distance between them. She was hit by the realization that it was harder than she had wanted, but there was nothing she could do about it.
Lylia’s memories of the part make it hard for her to sort out things and deal with them. She is looking at things from her old life, not realizing no one looks at her or thinks of her as Myria in this life. However, the people she cared about have, in one form or another, kept her spirit alive.
The best example of it was Lance, who would rather die than get rid of the seal placed on him by Myria. His arm was cut off, and he needed immediate treatment, which required him to let go of the seal. But he was too stubborn and took the seal even at the risk of dying, to which Lyria had to interfere.
Spoilers
Let the Saintess Be Selfish Chapter 21 will be confusing, with the two main leads being quiet about what they feel. All of these stories are about lack of proper communication, starting with Romeo and Juliet and staying that way to this day. The only change is that there is no death followed by tragedy, and that might be the reason why most of them aren’t.
Given everything that has gone down in the story so far, it is clear that we are going to get the romance story with a slice of life mixed into it. Not much other than the usual or new in the mix, but the angle that the story has taken for love is ingenuous. Moreover, the female lead has a sort of authority over the other two, as well as memories that will decide the future of the series.
