A recently launched six-part romance comedy called Half Love Half Arranged has left fans wanting more. The series, starring the gorgeous Karan Wahi against the beautiful Maanvi Gagroo, is the Indian television industry’s step toward making interesting shows.
Released on October 12th, 2023, the series has been directed by Simarpreet Singh and written by Shruti Bhardwaj, Kapoor Gaurav, and Deeba, along with Simarpreet Singh. Apart from our two leads, this romance-comedy also has actresses Supriya Shukla, Grusha Kapoor, Shruti Jolly, and Bhavya Grover, along with actor Amit Singh Thakur and many others.
The series follows the story of Riya Tanwar, a thirty-year-old gynecologist who, after going through a major heartbreak from a long-term relationship, decides to get married in an arranged setting.

The series introduces us to our leading lady, Riya Tanwar, a gynecologist who has been in a relationship with her boyfriend for years now. Preparing to get proposed by her boyfriend on her thirtieth birthday, we see Riya planning her future with him quite meticulously.
Doctor Riya has always been the girl who had figured out exactly what she wanted from life years before anyone else around her did. But when, instead of proposing, her boyfriend decided to break the predecided trajectory of her life by breaking up with her, Riya and her life’s roadmap all went to hell.
This unexpected turn completely caught her off guard and left her not knowing what she was supposed to do with herself. Their break up was ugly, and in the heat of the moment, Riya found herself challenging her ex by saying that she would find herself a better man in less than six months.
Oh, and she also said that she would marry this new guy, not just date. Back at home, Riya screams at herself for saying things she did not mean, but after much thought, she decides to give arranged meetings a go. As you would expect, things do not go smoothly, as Riya ends up meeting some of the most absurd men.
After being off the “dating market,” Riya had no idea what to expect from men, but her first dates with outright misogynistic men, awkward men, and just wrong matches in general, Riya was slowly getting convinced that there was a serious lack of good men in the world.
Finding the love of her life in just six months was a pressure in itself, and the kind of strange men that she was being paired with was just not helping her case. Her aunt, who had been finding boys for her, could not understand why Riya was being so picky about what she wanted in men.
But when you look at what Riya wants from her husband, it is simple and not that difficult to comprehend. All she wants from her life partner is to understand her and for him to find a balance between their families.
The Reality of the “Arranged” World
In a country where women are still expected to abandon their own families while promising to take care of their husband’s families for as long as possible, modern Indian women finally realize that they do not have to let their own families go for them to be able to find peace in the married life.
The realization that the couple can make time for both sides of the family and still live a peaceful life. Riya’s loving family was always there for her whenever she came back from a bad date, so it only makes sense that she would want to be around them even after her marriage.

Enter, Karan Wahi
Karan Wahi’s character in the series is the “perfect guy,” the guy Riya had been desperately looking for. His character, Jogi Hooda, is charming, and handsome, and is the greenest flag that there is.
Sure, the scenes between Riya and her childhood friends and her family are wholesome, but Jogi’s entry into the show adds a whole another level of charm to the show. The two meet when Riya treats Jogi’s mother, who happens to be her patient, and it is his mother who pushes Jogi to be friends with Riya, playing the cupid for them.
Jogi is a man written by a woman; he is confident in himself and does not hold on to petty tags of masculinity. This is an eye-opener for Riya, who is taken aback by the fact that this man, standing tall in front of her, is so different from the ones she had met before.
Not long after he enters into the show, you will find yourself shipping the two hard and maybe even gushing over how perfectly written his character is.
As dream-like as his existence may be, Riya loves that Jogi does not label her free-spirited personality “dominating,” which pushes her further down the rabbit hole of her love for Jogi. As we reach the end of this six-part series, we witness Riya and Jogi get together with each other, with heart-fluttering chemistry between them raising the tensions.
But just as you think that this good-looking couple would finally be together and the show would end on a happy note, the makers decide to throw at our faces, making us doubt if the two were even together after all.
