Ripley Parker’s teen comedy series Everything Now dropped recently on Netflix and exceeded fans’ expectations. Following the story of Mia, our main lead, played by actress Sophie Wilde, the show takes us into her life as we see her find a balance between dealing with anorexia and going back to school.
The show revolves around the lives of teenagers and the struggles they face in their lives as they try to find their path in life. The charming comedy series has impressed fans with its nuanced story, emotional issues, and a relatable teen story.
The series shows us how Mia, who is finally out of the hospital after months of being stuck there in a recovery program, is ready for the proper teenage experience, or is she? While in bed, going in and out of the hospital because of her eating disorder, her friends seemed to have moved on with their lives.
To her, friends had managed to find a cooler version of their lives and had all these experiences while she was left behind and missing out. This starts her story as she writes down all the things that bring her joy and terrify her on her bucket list, hoping to get back all the time she lost.
Unlike your typical YA shows, this one is thoroughly enjoyable, with characters that are complex and not hateful. The show is surely dealing with a heavy topic, but it manages to find a balance between comedy and emotionally intense scenes.
Apart from our lead, Wilde, the show also has Lauren Ajufo, Harry Cadby, Noah Thomas, Niamh McCormack, Jessie Mae Alonzo, Alex Hassell, and many other cast members in the show. The show has been put in the same category as shows like Heartstopper and Sex Education, which makes sense considering the YA setup of the show.
The show is very gen-z and woke, though it does not go over the top with it. It is relatable enough for young teens who feel lost and confused, just like the characters on the show. While we are sure you want to binge the series, let us tell you more about all of the locations where the show was shot.
Everything Now Filming Locations
London, England
This British YA series is shot entirely in England, specifically in London and places around it. With its typical British streets, gorgeous skylines, and Victorian buildings that seem to take you back in time, the show has got its aesthetics right.
For a show like Everything Now that does not require a grand backdrop, the makers must have used the local places and small suburban spots to add a more realistic effect to the story.
Despite this, some of the locations that fans were able to spot in the show included a Map Gift Shop and the Primrose Hill in London.
The first mentioned location, Map Gift Shop, turned out to be a small business place located at 93 Junction Road London. The owners of the place took to their social media to post about the fact that they had gotten featured in the trailer of the Netflix series.
Primrose Hill in London happens to be a beautiful public park that sits north of the Regent’s Park in the city. With a history way older than you would imagine, this location was also spotted by fans in the show.
Another location used a lot in the series was the London North Studio Mill Hill, a studio that has been the birthing set for way too many series. This vast studio has many different sets inside of it, and all of them can be used for different purposes for series and films.
The show premiered on Netflix on October 5th, 2023, and has since taken over young fans as their comfort series. If you want to find out what the hype is about, then make sure to watch this new series.
